COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In late summer, the grassy banks of the Madison River are jumping with grasshoppers. At Madison River Brewing Company we are always jumping at the chance to make another batch of Hopper Pale Ale. Four different barley malts lend a rich amber color and create a backdrop to showcase the distinctive citrus-like flavor and floral aroma of hops harvested in the Pacific Northwest. Bottle to pint glass Grapefruit, pine, pepper, and mold...kind of like Penicillium candidum, the mold you get on the outside of Brie. A clear light copper with a frothy white head. Grapefruit, orange, pine, celery...lots of hops; some nice light malt here as well. Iím rather enjoying this one.

This is a pretty decent pale ale. Very light and fresh tasting. Mild grassy hops with a smidgeon of pine at the end. Picked this up in Sheridan, WY in 2013.

12 oz. bottle in a tulip, white head that dissipates, itís a rainy day here so some nice condensation on the glass, this pour looks money. Hoppy nose, catching grassy floral notes. Taste light sweetness, medium bitterness. Medium body, average carbonation, bitter. Iím left tasting the hops, and slight caramel malt. Glad I picked up this beer in Wyo before heading home. Hooked on the hopper.

Appearance: Pours a tiny off white head that quickly dissipates. Mild lacing. Color is a cloudy copper with moderate carbonation present. Aroma: lovely combination of piney, floral, and tangerine hops with a sweet caramel malt. Mouthfeel: fairly light and frothy with a quite dry finish. Flavor: a sweet, yeasty caramel leads the opening and middle of this brew. The citrus and piney hops take over from the middle through the finish. There is some warming alcohol in the throat as it goes down. Overall: This is a most excellent ale.

12 ounce bottle. Pours a clear copper with a half inch light tan head that lasts. Good carbonation. Taste is of hops, malt, resin, pine, grapefruit, smoke and caramel. Has a hoppy and pine aroma. Has a decent body that finishes dry and bitter. A solid IPA that is refreshing and drinkable. Worth picking up again.

Not bad. True to itís description, it hits hard with hop bitterness upfront and finishes with a nice malty smoothness. A decent looking rustic orange pour with a white head that fades into spotty lacing. Itís an ok drinkable beer - nothing special going on here.
