Appearance: pours a thin 1/2" head that recedes rapidly. Some lacing on the glass. Color is a somewhat cloudy gold. Moderate carbonation bubbles streaming.
Aroma: rye bread, yeast rolls, a slight floral presence also.
Mouthfeel: light, watery, fairly refreshing. Somewhat dry finish.
Flavor: combination of tangy, peppery rye, some citrus and floral hop flavor, sweet toasted malts, the honey is detectable but not overwhelming.

This is a sweetish beer. No grain flavors from the rye at all. Mostly like a sweet lager. Okay.

On tap, Land of Magic, Logan MT. Gold color, nice white head that laces heavily. Smell is flat, bits of hops and wheat. Taste is lightly bitter, with no real complexity. Easy drinking beer, not my style.

2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
I was expecting something a little more interesting with the rye and honey combo. Unfortunately it somehow comes off as a fairly typical, run of the mill type of lager. There’s a tiny of hint of honey in the aroma and a touch of rye dryness in the flavor but it’s otherwise uninteresting and generic.

3.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle: courtesy of Shrubber...he’s so good to me.
Pours slightly hazed medium gold, with a thin white head.
Scent is light honey, malt.
Taste is sweetly honeyed, grain, fruit.
A sslight grassy hop bitter.
Really didn’t get any rye.... only a vague hint of raspberry,...but, nonetheless, ....pretty tasty little beer from Big Sky Country.
