From notes. Tasted on 8/22/13 on draft at the brewpub during a baseball trip with Adam and Taylor. Pours completely black with an average tan head that leaves a thin collar of lace. The nose is maple, caramel, toffee, dark chocolate, raisin, and plenty of raisin. The flavor is complex with the maple bourbon and vanilla sweetness up front, moving to raisin, and finishing with a drier toffee and bitter dark chocolate note. The body is full with light carbonation and a long roasted bourbon, vanilla, and coconut finish.

Draft - Lots of boozy bourbon notes, chocolate and toffee. Maroon with a light beige head. Chocolate, roast malts and vanilla, with tons of boozy bourbon toes.

on tap @ Party Town / Florence KY --- Opaque black, heavy tan head cover, bands of lace. Taste is toasted malt infused with bourbon and vanilla, a little chocolate in a finish that is already balanced, so, no hops. Bourbon dominates this, although I don’t taste so much alcohol. A big brew, easy to drink, recommended.

On tap at Jackie O’s Public House on 4/22/14. Darkest brown pour with a medium tan head. Aroma of bourbon, chocolate, slight roast and more bourbon. Flavor starts with bourbon and chocolate, moving to vanilla, oak and more bourbon before a bitter dark chocolate and roasted malt finish.

Draft at Madtree. Pours dark brown to black in color with a medium sized creamy khaki colored head. The aroma and flavor have roasted malt, chocolate, a nice amount of bourbon without being overpowering, vanilla, coffee, wood, some earthy hops with a splash of caramel. This is one of my favorite local beers; definitely worth trying if you get the chance.

Draft: Pours a dark brown, like chocolate, with a tan head. Aromas are what you’d expect... chocolate, bourbon, roasted grains, Vanilla. Taste is nice and roasty, with some creaminess coming through, vanilla and oak. Perfect example of a barrel aged imperial stout. I can think of few beers better on a snowy winter day while sitting inside a warm house looking out the window.

Tap. Poured a black color with an average frothy tan head that mostly diminished with excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy roasted coffee, chocolate and woodalcohol aroma. Medium to heavy toasted chocolate malt flavor with a medium to heavy dark sweet and small alcohol bite finish of moderate to long duration. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. This is a standout beer.

Draft pour. Pours a darker ruby to brown with a beige head. Aroma has raisin, nuts, oats. Taste very nutty with a lot of barrel character. Nice barrel aged stout.

10oz on tap at the brewery, for $8. Black color. Good thin light brown head. Nice, thick sheet of lace. Awesome big vanilla, dark chocolate, rich chocolate cake, decadent type brownie-like nose. Big body. Smooth, lighter, more crisp carbonation. Moderately dry in the finish. Moderate bitter taste, some sweet, hint of tartness. Maybe not as chewy as I’d prefer, kind of a softer, stronger level of carbonation than typical for the style. Nice huge roast malt in the flavor profile, moderate roasted coffee flavors. Big earthy hop of the base is still noticeable here, but a little smoothed out after the barrel-aging. Light bit of alcohol warmth. Satisfying barrel-aged hoppy imperial stout to sip on.. Great, bigger whiskey barrel character to it.

Draft at the brewpub. Pours dark brown/black. Nose of bourbon and vanilla. Taste smooth vanilla, chocolate, and some fruit. Nice bitter finish. The bourbon definitely not overpowering, and was a very noce treatment to this beer.
