Can. Pours like a cola with a massive, pillowy beige head. Exceptional cling. Aromas are caramel, chocolate and dark fruit. Flavors are cocoa and caramel, toffee, sweet dark fruit. Licorice and dark chocolate in the finish. Noticeable alcohol warmth. Creamy, but lively, mouthfeel. Fairly dry finish. Very nice brown ale!

On tap. brown, sorty of murky with a light brown head. Very big toast and roasty aroma with almonds and a hint of chocolate. Dry brew with that toasty bitterness coming through and big body. very good.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Dark brown pour with a beige head. Aroma is chocolate malt, nutty, light roasted malt. Flavor is that and a light hoppy bite on the finish. Really enjoyable malty brown with a light hop background. Good.

Brown ale? Maybe black. :-) Had this brew on draft. Dark brown and rich. This brown ale is stout and hides the 7% alcohol well. Enjoy!

12oz can from Pace High Carryout: copper-brown pour with a medium tan head. Aroma of nutty, roasty, grass, wood. Tastes are roasted malt, chocolate, sweet toasty. caramel, coffee. Nutty, herbal, bitter finish. Not a huge brown fan, but this is solid stuff.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
12 ounce can, canned on 11/10/2014. Served in a nonic pint glass, the beer pours a clear brown color with some reddish tints to it. Head retention is good, and there’s a lot of lacing. The brew smells like brown sugar, nuts, vanilla and some coffee. Taste is similar to the aroma, but there’s also some toasted malt and a light bitter hoppiness noticeable. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it’s creamy and coating with moderate carbonation. I think this is a good brown ale, I wouldn’t mind buying this again. Nice to see the MadTree cans finally come to Columbus! $9.99 a 6-pack.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Can, as pictured. Definitely a lot bigger and bolder than a standard brown, I was pleased with this. Heavy on the brown sugar I thought. Packed a little bit of a punch.
