COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Specialty malts bring intimations of brown sugar and vanilla, which meld into the Gnarly’s character. Roasted coffee malt flavors and residual sweetness dance in harmony, obscuring the line between brown ale and porter.

12 oz can poured at home. Taste of chocolate and coffee. Earthy taste with a nice mouthfeel and after taste. Smooth beer that I would drink again. Recommended.

This is really good. Very roasty. Thick brown pour. Finishes a little bit bitter. Soft carbonation, very well balanced. Bottle thanks to bmoosey.

Really interesting beer. Has characteristics of a Brown and a Porter. The Brown characteristics hit first, with the Porter to follow. Very good beer; makes me want to try their other offerings. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A bit too hoppy for my liking on a Brown and not quite as rich as I like Porters. Not bad, but not what I was looking for.

Can. Coffee and nutty chocolate malt aroma. Dark brown with small head. Sweet milky/nutty coffee malt and light herbal flavor. Nice body. A great brown ale.

Dark brown color (almost like a stout or porter), creamy brown head, strong coffee aroma, hints of chocolate maybe in aroma and flavor, noticeable coffee flavor, especially in the finish, complex for a brown ale, very good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

(tap) clear amber brown colour with a small brown head; aromas of coffee, fruit; mostly dry flavour with a long light sour and bitter finish; quite nice

Had this beer straight out of the can. Had some chocolate and roasted coffee notes. A nice finish. The flavors all come together nicely.

12 oz can (also on draft). Pours a clear cola brown with a medium sized off white head. The aroma and flavor have a nice blend of roasted malt, chocolate and some coffee notes. The body is better than most browns as is the flavor. Almost drinks like a porter. Solid brown with a twist.
