COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This dry-hopped ale combines caramel and biscuit malt flavors in happy equilibrium with late addition American hops. The approachable balance is intentional, although the name is a "hoppy" accident.

Draft at tap room. Poured clear dark amber hue with medium frothy white head that lasted with good lacing. Medium aroma of sour citrus hops and sweet malt. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Well balanced flavor of malt, citrus hops with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. Good drinkable brew.

12 oz can in Dublin Ohio. Pours with a copper colored body and a good head. Hoppy aroma for style. This partially carries over to the taste, especially in the mildly bitter aftertaste. O: a hopped up Amber beer that leans strongly towards a pale ale.

Canned June 2, 2015 enjoyed July 25, 2015 in a tulip/snifter. Look - Amber, orange body. Stone head with medium bubbles. Blotchy lacing. Smell - Hoppier than a normal amber. Pineapple. Malt. Taste - Pine. Spice. Lemon. Orange. Malt. Dairy. Feel - Medium. Between creamy and carbonated. Not a lot of alcohol taste. Overall - MadTree mainstay. I have tried before but still not what I look for in the style. Try it for a change up from stouts and IPAs, but get a pretty hoppy beer anyway.

Pours a slightly hazy golden brown from the can with dissipating off-white head that leaves moderate lace. Aroma and taste of musty pine and earth hops, big caramel malts behind it. Slightly oxidized, mild carbonation, decent but old.

Can thanks to micham8 - 10/23/14. Pours clear amber, medium beige head, dissipates fairly slowly leaving nice residual and lacing. Aroma is hoppy, primarily pine and spruce, with notes of caramel and biscuit leaking through. Flavor is light plus sweet and medium bitter, primarily pine, caramel, biscuit. Medium body, a bit creamy. Lingering bitterness.

12 ounce can, canned on 11/07/2014. Served in a pint glass, the beer pours a slightly hazy orange/amber with about an inch off-white head. Head retention is good, and there’s a lot of lacing. The brew smells like citrusy (grapefruit, citrus peel) and floral hops, and caramel and bready malt. I think the taste is pretty much just like the aroma, but there’s also a bit of orange noticeable too. Great balance between the hoppy and malty flavors. There’s also a nice hoppy bitter finish, too. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it’s a bit coating and is well carbonated. I liked this brew, I might have to pick up a sixer of this soon. Got to try it at $1.67 a can, definitely worth picking up!
