The subtle malt backbone combats the bitterness and intensity of floral, grassy, and citrus hop flavors. However, taste is perception. What’s your slant?

Can from the nearby Walgreens. Pours a slightly hazy dark golden color with a smallish off-white head on there. Nose is lightly floral with some sweet citrus notes in there; interesting, but not quite what I expected in an IPA. Taste is moderately bitter and much dryer than I would have guessed from the nose, but is exactly what I wanted this evening. Really quite a nice brew.

Can poured a clear gold with a lasting white head. Aromas of straw, grapefruit and light grassiness. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a smooth dry finish. Flavors of straw, grapefruit and ligjt grassiness with a smooth dry lingering bitter finish.

12 oz. can, dated July 2015, into a snifter. A: Clear but limited clarity in the gold-amber body. Moderate size but short lived head leaves spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma - very fruity, with plenty of citrus, mainly orange. Suggests more tartness than sweetness. Good complexity. Feel: Medium body and near medium carbonation. Crisp and dry. Flavor: Some sweet malt; enough to leave this IPA with relatively low bitterness for style. The hoppy characteristics still dominate, with tropical fruit, herbal and evergreen notes. Overall: Low bitterness but plenty of hops for an IPA.

Solid straight forward IPA. Golden pour with thin white head and light lacing. Hops are a mix of subtle citrus and earthy/grass. Well balanced. Dig it.

Can dated mid July. Pours a hazy yellow/orange with medium fluffy white head. Aromas of citrus, pine, floral. Flavor had some lemon, grapefruit, pine, flower, and hints of tropical fruit surprisingly. Medium body, sticky texture, lively carbonation, smooth finish. Drank much much much easier than a 7% beer. I had this gone is a few minutes time.

madelfonatree (225) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - JUL 22, 2015
Dated sometime in June (bad print) poured in to a snifter/tulip on July 23. Look - Darker yellow. Thick ivory head with fine to medium bubbles. Lacing. Smell - Light pine. Light resin. Light lemon. Light grapefruit. Taste - Malt. Followed by pine. Followed by grapefruit and other citrus. Finishes back to malt. Feel - Well carbonated but doesn’t really explode. Tingle on tongue. Medium body. Overall - This is MadTree’s butter. Not a terrible IPA. I am surprised with the 6.9% as it drinks like a session. Pick up their IIPAS! Galaxy High!
