COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Very tasty beer in incredible balance. Fine notes of dark malts and cocoa. Beautiful long after taste without the bitterness is dominant. The best chocolate beer I’ve tasted to date

Pours deep red-black with a great, staying, creamy, beige head. Aroma is lightly roasted, lots of dark chocolate and a hint of blackberries. Highish carbonation, fine creamy mouthfeel. Flavour has light coffee notes, dark chocolate, roasted malts. Long, roasted bitterness with some cocoa thrown in for good measure. Nice.

Bottled. A pitch black beer with a huge bubbly dark brown head. The aroma has strong notes of dark chocolate, cocoa, and roasted malt - very inviting. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of roasted malt as well as medium notes of dark chocolate, and some cocoa, as well as hints of vanilla, leading to a dry roasted finish, where the chocolate notes lingers for a long time.

06-FEB-2010, bottle @home, from Magasin. Tasted side by side with Svaneke choko stout. Black with nice head. Chocolate and vanilla nose, very similar to Svaneke. Taste is hoppier, and the bitterness suits the sweet chocolate well. Beats Svaneke, but the difference is small.
