Magic Hat 60 Winks Ale

From a twelve ounce bottle purchased at "Keller’s IGA" in Cincinnati, Ohio - This one pours a golden brew with a tall white head of foam and slightly sweet, doughy aroma. Tastewise... it’s just another light-bodied pilsner.

Pours a translucent golden with a bubbly white head that did not sustain or lace. Aroma had that fruity Magic Hat yeast esters going on with citrus, some grassiness and light grains. Flavor had a lot more fruity esters than I would expect from a German Pils. Did they just use ale yeast? Citrus, some sweet grainy/malts with a lingering hop bitterness. Enjoyed the flavor.

Pours a golden color with a smallish white head. Aroma of some hops and grainy malts. Flavor of malt grain and a touch of honey.

12 oz bottle. Pours golden clear yellow in color with little head. Corny and hoppy aroma. Metallic notes. Hoppy bready flavor. Corn notes. Medium bodied. Finish is bitter. Drinkable.

12 oz bottle. Pours golden yellow with a quick collapsing head. Aroma is bready and just a bit metalic. Taste is a bit on the sweet side with some corn and a nice hop bite. Minus points for bad head retention, this ain’t bad. Finishes with a lemony bitterness.

(12oz bottle, best by end of March) Medium off-white head atop a lightly hazed straw body. Aroma is medium sweet, floral, some dough/cereal. Taste is medium sweet, grassy/spicy, lemon, some apricot, cereal, light honey. Light-medium body, decent crispness, light acidity. I wonder if one of the 60 winks is devoted to calling a pilsener an ale?

Pours a fizzy yellow/straw color with a thin white head. Tastes ans smells of crisp malt and mellow citrussy hops with peppery spicy splashes. Not bad for what it is.
