I think this is a great Pilsner. Not a pussy one like Miller Lite. Its flavorful, and great. Everything from the aroma of hops, to the flavor of hops going down. It’s amazing, an awesome Pilsner.

based on previous ratings, this beer is taking some undo criticism in my opinion. Very refreshing hoppy German Pils. The aroma is very hoppy with a grainy straw-like smell. The color is bright yellow with a slight cloudy hue. Lacing is not great, but the beer clearly has some good body. Fantastic summer beer for those that want more than your standard. This has exceptional body with a great palate. The 5.8% alcohol content is extremely well-hidden.

Poured a golden color with an unimpressive head for a pilsner. The lacing was near nil. So far pretty miserable. However, the aroma was strong honey, grainly, some light grass. The flavor was a rather malty little sucker, honey, grainy, even a littlle doughy in the aftertaste. The finish was firmly bitter, but not really that grassy for a pilsner. Sweet and bitter at the same time, decent level of balance, alcohol hiding at an elevated 5.8%. A nice brew, although not really "pretty" looking initially (slightly more color than Bud).

Golden yellow color and a decent head that left quickly. Good taste with a touch of bitterness at the back of the throat.

Grainy and yeasty aroma. Clear golden color with little to no head. Starts mild and ends with a slight hop bitterness.

12 oz bottle-pours a white head and hazy yellow color. Aroma is fruit, spicy, grain. Taste is fruit, spicy/herbal hops, grain/wheat/malt-some caramel. Occasional. OK carbonation.

12 oz bottle from City Market in Burlington, VT (December 2006) served a bit above fridge temperature in a Christoffel glass. As eaglefan notes, rather dull-looking for a pils, leaden yellow-gold with a moderate quick-dissipating white head....some decent German hops in the nose, honey, light floral notes but nothing much to get excited about, lowpowered and unoriginal.....definitely more to this beer once you taste it though, a really lovely creamy maltiness throughout, rich and very full for a pils but nicely balanced by the Saaz-y bitterness that gradually creeps up on you and makes you notice it by the finish.....light mineralic qualities at the finish and sharp bitterness belie the slightly too-smoth overall feel of it; carbonation a bit on the low side. Pretty solid all in all despite the ugly appearance and somewhat boring aroma. Nice label too but Magic Hat, I’d think you might know that a pilsner isn’t an ale?

(12oz bottle, best by end of March) Medium off-white head atop a lightly hazed straw body. Aroma is medium sweet, floral, some dough/cereal. Taste is medium sweet, grassy/spicy, lemon, some apricot, cereal, light honey. Light-medium body, decent crispness, light acidity. I wonder if one of the 60 winks is devoted to calling a pilsener an ale?
