Commercial Description:
A Beer Cloaked in Secrecy An ale whose mysterious and unusual palate will swirl across your tongue and ask more questions than it answers. A beer brewed clandestinely and given a name whose meaning is never revealed. Why #9? Why, indeed. A sort of dry, crisp, fruity, refreshing, not-quite pale ale. #9 is really impossible to describe because there's never been anything else quite like it. Fermented with our 150 year old strain of top-fermenting English yeast.

On tap and served in a Magic Hat shaker. This beer poured a golden amber hue with a two-finger thick head of creamy white foam that lasted through about half of the glass. A nice amount of lacing coated the glass. The aroma of the beer was made up of light citrus, berries, and also some toffee. The flavor included apricot, raspberries, light caramel, and also some mild citrus hop notes. The mouthfeel was light-bodied and highly drinkable with moderate carbonation. An interesting mix of flavors without being messy. A tasty, highly sessionable brew.

Draft. Clear yellow-copper color with medium white head. Fruity malty flavor that has some unique qualities. I was not in top tasting form when I tasted it so I may be off a little, but it was a solid beer yet still unique.

I’m missing the fruit here. This brew is a pleasantly mellow yellow with not so much a head as a light creamy glaze. It tastes like lightly sweetened syrup with a vanilla aftertaste and a bit of a carbonated bite.

Never even heard of magic hat until up until last year. This beer wasn’t bad. Nice amber color and white head. Weak in depth and taste. Decent.

It pours a pale golden color with a small foamy white head. The aroma is full of fresh ripe apricots and sweet grains. On the tongue it has a silky smooth texture with a pleasing fruity apricot flavor that’s not too sweet or sticky. It works well with light malts and a mellow hop bitterness. This is a very drinkable beer with a great fruity flavor.
