Commercial Description:
A Beer Cloaked in Secrecy An ale whose mysterious and unusual palate will swirl across your tongue and ask more questions than it answers. A beer brewed clandestinely and given a name whose meaning is never revealed. Why #9? Why, indeed. A sort of dry, crisp, fruity, refreshing, not-quite pale ale. #9 is really impossible to describe because there’s never been anything else quite like it. Fermented with our 150 year old strain of top-fermenting English yeast.

On tap at Taco Mac. Light golden orange in color, pretty lively carbonation. Nose fairly mild, what aroma is there is of apricot. More apricot on tasting, lots of apricot as well as floral hops, and a slight underlying yeasty flavor. Not my favorite, but then I don’t really like apricots.

On tap at Eno’s Pizza Tavern in Dallas, TX. Pours a hazy light gold with white head. Aroma is nice, very fruity/citrus, apricot, orange, wheat, and yeasty. Flavor of apricot,, very citrusy, yeasty, taste wheat. Mouth feel is light body with high carbonation. Overall, a pretty tasty, refreshing beer....

On tap at Coasters. Aroma of lemon and somewhere between the aroma of a hefeweizen and a lager. Taste is pretty much the same. Not much to talk about here but I remember hating this beer. Maybe it’s that I am rating this on a 90 degree day but it really wasn’t as bad as I remembered.

Pours a clear golden orange color with virtually no head. Aroma is fruity but very faint. Flavor is apricot and peach, with a hint of tannins. I noted this almost tasted like a weak peach tea. Mouthfeel is thin and watery. Just a hint of hop bitterness in the finish to remind you it’s a beer, but that’s about it. Just couldn’t get into this one.

Nice golden color with plenty of white head. Some peach and apricot flavors. Definite fruit bouquet. I like.

2009 Bottle - Thanks beerbill! - Pours a cloudy golden with a small white head...aroma is lemony apricot?, grain and dough...flavour is bright, high carbonation masks some of that flavour, much more fruit in the nose, but still get faint citrus and apricot, rather light overall, but the flavour that’s there is nice and refreshing...
