Commercial Description:
A Beer Cloaked in Secrecy An ale whose mysterious and unusual palate will swirl across your tongue and ask more questions than it answers. A beer brewed clandestinely and given a name whose meaning is never revealed. Why #9? Why, indeed. A sort of dry, crisp, fruity, refreshing, not-quite pale ale. #9 is really impossible to describe because there’s never been anything else quite like it. Fermented with our 150 year old strain of top-fermenting English yeast.

12oz bottle poured into a pint glass. Pours a very clear, light yellow with tons of bubbles streaming to the top and feeding a soapy white head that sticks to the sides of the glass and lingers as a cap for a while. Smells like, well, apricot juice. There are hints of malts in the nose as well, but the apricots don’t let much else through. The taste has an initial apricot rush with tons of sweetness in tow. The malts are a little more evident in the taste but not much as the apricot sweetness also lingers through the finish. The mouthfeel is pretty light with good carbonation and very crisp in the finish with a slight dry fruit texture. This is a decent brew that is drinkable to start with but starts to wear on me a little bit after half a glass. Those apricots start to get a little much for me. Still, not bad.

mellow beer, decent for summer time drinking. This was a favorite of mine in the college days but I have definitely had much better since then. Decent summer beer tho

12oz thanks to my Mom. Pours a slightly hazy dark golden with an orange tint. Aromas of dried apricots and sweet fruit, a bit of malt as well. Flavor is fruity, it kind of reminds me of those gummy peach rings. I personally like this beer although I can see why some don’t.

Bottle. Pours a light orange with a small white head. Aroma of sweet apricot and fruity perfume. Flavor of light sweetness (a little artificial tasting) and sweet pale malts, some wheaty/bready notes. I had this side by side with DFH Aprihop and #9 was better. Palate is a little wearing though. 6/4/5/3/12 (3.0/5)
