3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Good for drinking all day long on sunday during tripleheader nba playoffs.
Smooth drinking with a funky aftertaste. Aftertaste is avoidable if you refrain from food.

Way too fruity for my palate, interesting but wouldn’t purchase. I really do not like it due to sickening sweetness. In all fairness though, a well produced beer, but very weird taste, tastes like going camping i.e: very fruity and herbal with an almost raspberry aftertaste. Good beer if you want to get in touch with nature. Others try before you buy. Completely one of a kind though.

UPDATED: MAY 31, 2003 Adequate apricot beer - certainly one of a kind. Not as good as a Lindemans lambic, for sure, but decent. First gulp, good. Fifth gulp, somewhat cloying.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Cloudy orange appearance, creamy white head didn’t last long. Had a subtle fruity aroma with a crisp dry initial sip which I loved. The middle was full bodied and finished with a dry blueberry taste that I got a little sick of towards the end. Overall one of their best brews.

This is definitely one of my favorite Magic Hats. I love that fruity taste.

Rerating: Huge ’bread dough’ nose with a yeasty aroma to boot. Smooth mouthfeel. Malty, in a ’bready, cake-like’ sort of way; very meaty and thick in that respect. Has a very curious malt bill. Some apricot in the back end. Cookie-dough sweetness is a little sticky and cloying. Fairly ’easy-to-drink,’ but it is a little strange. Overall, I found it not bad, but it would take some time to get used to. I don’t know if I could acquire an affinity for those eccentric malt flavors though.

The fruity aroma and taste was appreciated with the first gulp, but after 3 or for gulps it just got old and overdone. They need to tone this down some. There were some good hops hiding back there, but they couldn’t get out from under all that fruit.
