COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Apricot flavouring
A Beer Cloaked in Secrecy An ale whose mysterious and unusual palate will swirl across your tongue and ask more questions than it answers. A beer brewed clandestinely and given a name whose meaning is never revealed. Why #9? Why, indeed. A sort of dry, crisp, fruity, refreshing, not-quite pale ale. #9 is really impossible to describe because there’s never been anything else quite like it. Fermented with our 150 year old strain of top-fermenting English yeast.

UPDATED: APR 11, 2003 GOlden/yellow/amber hue. Interesting aromas of wheat, apricot, bread, yeast. Sweet first, light to medium bodied, nice carbonation. Kinda an american wheat, fruit beer, american pale, all in one. Nice apricot finish, crisp and refreshing. Well balanced. Not a bad brew, but nothing spectacular.

One of the few fruity beers I will actually drink. Good, refreshing summer beer with definitive apricot aftertaste.

Obvious fruits--what’s more to say--like it or leave it. Watery consistency, but depth of flavors such as strawberry, raspberry, watermelon. Plain appearance. (on tap, Whisky’s, Boston)

UPDATED: APR 26, 2003 The apricot flavor adds just enough fruitiness to enhance the overall taste. One of the few fruit beers I think successfully pulls it off. Strawberry blonde coloring. Very nice for the warmer weather, but yet the aroma and the finish are a little too sour for my taste. It's not as good as I orginally thought, but it gets points for being interesting.

First notice the rediculously huge apricot aroma that spreads through the air. Sligthly less apricot in the flavor. The pale ale background is so subdued by apricot that i cant really sense much hop character besides som bitterness and malt tones are masked as well. I very different beer. More of a beer for the women, I think.

Not a stong fruity taste. very refreshing especially when it is 95 degrees outside in the shade.

Eventhough my rating is not glowing, I think this is worth a try. I am not a big fan of fruit beers, but this is an interesting one. It is not overly artificial tasting. I think if they used more hops (for both bittering and aroma) this could be good.

I enjoyed this beer, a good beer to drink after trying to pound a pick axe through N Carolina clay in order to get some grass to grow

A lot of hippies like this beer because it comes from vermont. Get over it. This stuff is horrible, and thats coming from a heavy beast ice drinker. It tastes like it was filtered through some dudes socks after he ran the boston marathon. There are just too many flavors present, and some of those just should not go together.
