Magic Hat #9

Aroma was nothing too special, other than a bit of apricot in there. The pour was again not too special. A golden orange slightly cloudy brew. The flavor was refreshing and delicious. A slightly sweet apricot that simply put blended perfectly with the...well... beer flavoring. I don’t think of this as a fruity beer, but more that the apricot makes the beer taste like what I’ve always wanted plain lagers or ales to taste like. I don’t care if that makes sense, cause after this I’m floating on cloud... well you can probably guess.

12oz bottle, best by may 2009. Clear honey gold with a lasting white head. The aroma is a combo of light malt sweetness, herbal hops and apricot extract. Lightly sweet, with a grainy toasty malt flavor, apricot, and a modestly bitter, herbal hop flavor in the end. Light in body and a bit prickly. Average golden ale with light apricot extract component. Honestly just weird.

12oz bottle. Hazy and orange colored. Slightly golden and pink grapefruit juice hue. Spotty white head. Apricot and peach nose. Citrus and tons of different fruits. Initial dry and slightly bitter flavor. Then the sweet honeyish flavors come through. Then the cornucopia of fruit flavors. Of course, apricots and peaches. But there are other notes of orange, lemon and lime, slight grapefruit and plumes. The finish is crisp and sharp. The hops are citrusy and dry. Tart and sour flavors intermingle with sweet and sugary nuances. This is definitely tasty, and the fruit flavors are enhanced by the dry finish.

Another one of the affordable local options I often find in the fridge. It’s OK, not spectacular and isn’t made by Anheuser-Busch.

It has a nice orange like color to it. The taste was very plain to me, I thought there was going to be more of a Apricot flavor to it, but it was just a hint of apricot flavor in the aftertaste. Overall a very plain tasting but drinkable beer.

12oz bottle. Pours orange with a white head. Aroma is of hops, grain, peaches, and cardboard malt. Taste is of tangy peaches, grain, malt, light hops, and sugar. The malt tastes very off, but the fruit is tangy enough to keep the tough interested. Watery mouthfeel. Goes down easy and doesn’t offend the taste. It gets the job done without being anything more than decent.

Poured from tap and arrived at table with a thick white head, copper-orange color. Aroma is pretty peach fruity with almost nothing else detectable. Flavor starts off with a peachy flavor and then moves into a flavor the best I can describe is a fruit cocktail syrup taste. Beer has moderate carbonation and a medium heaviness which overall creates an okay beer but it is pretty sweet.

Pours an light orangish with a white head. Nose of apricots, hops and some spice. Taste is where the apricot really comes through with a little spice and grasses to follow it up. Decent session beer - easy drinking.
