Commercial Description:
A Beer Cloaked in Secrecy An ale whose mysterious and unusual palate will swirl across your tongue and ask more questions than it answers. A beer brewed clandestinely and given a name whose meaning is never revealed. Why #9? Why, indeed. A sort of dry, crisp, fruity, refreshing, not-quite pale ale. #9 is really impossible to describe because there’s never been anything else quite like it. Fermented with our 150 year old strain of top-fermenting English yeast.

A very nice beer. Has mellow flavors. Nothing overpowers. A nice beer, worth a try, especially if you prefer balanced beers.

Light orange pour with a large fluffy whit head. Light aroma and a bit of fruitiness. Flavor of citrus upfront then some pale malts, fruit, and maybe vanilla at the finish. Light body.

Pour birght golden with a bit of white head. Both the nose and flavor feature apricot with a dab of hops. Light body and fizzy. Short finish that makes you wonder if you had actually drank anything.

I would bathe #9 if it was more cost efficient. This is a lighter beer with taste, a great, different flavor and aroma. You could drink 1 of these with dinner at a nice restaurant or get shit faced at a party with no awkward looks. You can find this beer easily but it is not overly commercialized. Great choice, dont be a snob.

330 mL and on tap. Pours a clear copper with a small white head that dwindles down to a thin layer. Aromas of dried apricot, bread, citrus. Taste is sour apricot with some white sugar and biscuity malts. Overall watery and very much apricot.

There is a really nasty flavor here. Maybe it tastes like something, but I don’t know what. A turd dipped in carmel and tar with a lilac potpourri dropped on. Uggh. As it got warmer, that flavor actually became less prodominant thankfully. The description says 150 yr old strain of yeast. Tastes like a sock full of sweat with 150 yr old hops in it. If this is good beer, I’m headed to AA right now. Color is a really light straw color. Everytime I take a drink I can’t believe how bad this tastes. They must have been going for different and comparing this to good beer. It is very different from good beer.

12 Oz bottle. Clear golden color. Fruity apricot aroma. Taste is fruity with only slight bitterness at the end. Had it before... a little watery in the mouth feel.

On-tap at the Mews Tavern. No tthe first time I have had this beer and I continue to like it. Color is pale orange/yellow and carbonation/bubbles are very inviting. Smells of fresh apricots, though not overpoering Taste is malty, fruity and sweet. Apricots are very present, but the backbone of the beer is not overmatched. Mild fruitiness and medium carbonation enables this beer to be highly sessionable.
