Commercial Description:
A Beer Cloaked in Secrecy An ale whose mysterious and unusual palate will swirl across your tongue and ask more questions than it answers. A beer brewed clandestinely and given a name whose meaning is never revealed. Why #9? Why, indeed. A sort of dry, crisp, fruity, refreshing, not-quite pale ale. #9 is really impossible to describe because there’s never been anything else quite like it. Fermented with our 150 year old strain of top-fermenting English yeast.

Thanks to Haslinger for this beer. Pours a clear gold with good white head. Nose of honey and apricot and some hops. Flavor is apricot and strawberry with some sweetness and light hops. Crisp and clean flavor with fruity finish. Good beer. Thanks Haslinger.

Pours clear redish-yellow with 2 finger head a some lacing. The aroma is straight apricot. The apricot is pronounced in the flavor. Slight hops just for balance. Very nice in the summer.

12oz bottle. Pours clear golden with white head. Aroma is fruity with some light hops. Flavor is light and crisp with light fruits, grain, malt and light hops. Thought it was going to be a pale ale based on the label so was a little disappointed to find out it was fruit beer. Decent summer session beer.

12oz bottle at Carlyle’s in Ann Arbor on November 29, 2008. Crazy huge white head… clean yellow/orange color… fresh and fruity aroma. Very pronounced fruity flavor with just enough hops for balance. Can’t figure out what this fruit is… strawberry or an apricot, perhaps? Despite the fruity flavor, it’s very light. Can’t tell it’s a pale. Definitely a chick beer – a good one at least.

Tried this at a fun little sportsbar in Chicago. It started off nice, but then the fruitiness got to me. I wasn’t sure if it was grapefruit, or peach, or some other kind of acidic fruit, but I don’t really care for the flavor. After a while it made my stomach turn a bit.

Sweet aroma notes of fruit and light spices. A most soft, pleasant and refreshing beer from magic hat. Carmel notes and no head make this an odd beer. Still just slightly above average

Weird beer, don’t know if I would call it a fruit beer. Pours a clear gold with almost no head. Light fruity aroma. The taste is crisp and finished very dry. Peach flavor I guess, seems like a weird fresca.
