Commercial Description:
A Beer Cloaked in Secrecy An ale whose mysterious and unusual palate will swirl across your tongue and ask more questions than it answers. A beer brewed clandestinely and given a name whose meaning is never revealed. Why #9? Why, indeed. A sort of dry, crisp, fruity, refreshing, not-quite pale ale. #9 is really impossible to describe because there’s never been anything else quite like it. Fermented with our 150 year old strain of top-fermenting English yeast.

Pours golden with a decent white head. Aroma is fruity and slightly citrusy, taste is also fruity and citrusy. Not bad.

Pale ale - decent white head and looks like a blonde out of the bottle. Aroma is complex and a little confusing - no major hop aroma here but a little grape or pineapple like to the nose. First draw on the 1st bottle was not pleasant - earthy taste and after-taste was grassy. Tried a 2nd bottle the next day and the fruit flavors were there - apricot / peach overtones, no strong malt flavors but not unpleasant. Bit of a tang on the tongue from possibly the yeast or the carbonation. Light on the palate, quaffable - a good beer for summer time but not my favorite blonde. The fruit tastes are... different. Would drink again, but not overly impressed.

Magic Hat #9 is a hazy, light yellow beer with a thin head. The aroma is full of character while being light and fruity. The finish is clean, making this a very easy beer to drink.

Pours very pale, not much aroma going on here. Taste matches it, super weak and watery. Not really too much here, this is a non-beer. There is some fruit there, but it’s so weak and in the backseat that I can’t even really tell what it is. Ratebeer calls this a fruit beer, but in my experience with it there isn’t enough fruit taste here to give it that title. Pale ales like Stone and Sierra Nevada have more fruit punch than this brew. Pass on this one.

It’s light and fruity, but has a good malt flavor. It is very light and has a soda-y flavor due to the lightness. I couldn’t drink a whole lot of it due to some residual sourness.

On Tap. A nice golden color, with a light fruity nose. Sort of a bready flavor, maybe some yeast, with an awesome light fruit finish, somewhere in all this I swear I could smell or taste bubblegum. An odd brew but very refreshing and tasty...Will drink again.

Bottle: pours a golden amber with a thin white head, aroma of citrus, apricots, taste is fruity, with some bitterness, thin mouthfeel. Not something I really enjoy that much but it is not a bad beer.

Bottle. Poured a cloudy gold color with a two finger tan head. Aroma of citrus. Flavor is refreshingly fruity. Great summer brew.
