Commercial Description:
A Beer Cloaked in Secrecy An ale whose mysterious and unusual palate will swirl across your tongue and ask more questions than it answers. A beer brewed clandestinely and given a name whose meaning is never revealed. Why #9? Why, indeed. A sort of dry, crisp, fruity, refreshing, not-quite pale ale. #9 is really impossible to describe because there’s never been anything else quite like it. Fermented with our 150 year old strain of top-fermenting English yeast.

12 ounce bottle- poured out dark yellow with a white head. Aroma was all fruit, all the time. The taste was really overwhelmed by the fruity sweetness of this brew. Not something I would buy again, but I’m looking forward to the rest of the Magic Hat offerings.

Pours a dark golden color with frothy white head. Faint fruity aroma. Fruity flavor of apricots or peaches with a hoppy finish. Medium body and a nice mouthfeel. Unique beer.

Had at smugglers notch. Bottle. Pours a copper color with a small head. Aroma is raspberries or blueberries or peaches...cant tell. Flavor is totally fruity and sweet. I wonder what fruit it is? Fun beer to try and figure out what is in it for sure.

Magic Hat Brewery night at Three Cellars Milwaukee. Soft crisp slightly apricot taste. A little hop bite for balance. Good color and carbonation. I greatly enjoyed this beer.

Pours a dark golden with a few large bubbles and a very small white head. Big apricot aroma with some sweet caramel malt. Nice English like pale ale character, fair amount of hops and caramel malt, with moderately sweet apricot flavor... pretty straight forward and not bad. The base beer is not a weak ale at all, but rather just full enough to not get completely overwhelmed by the fruit. Medium body with nice carbonation.

Smells of raisin with hints of fruity apricot. Pours a clear crisp gold/copper color in the glass with a small white head. Tastes slightly bitter followed by apricot, ending clean and crisp.
