naivepegasus (183), USA Jul 5, 2008 Pours yellow with a finger of bright white, rapidly dissipating head. Apricots dominate the aroma- very pungent. Not as fruity tasting as I expected- starts off with some slight apricot flavor, and ends with a strong bitterness. Not really my kind of beer.... Beerman6686 (1266), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 4, 2008 Poured a nice light amber color with a small white head. Aroma is mainly of apricots and a little bit of hops. Flavor is much the same, apricots, wheaty, and a bit of hops. Tessic (439), Brantford, Ontario, Canada Jul 3, 2008 This beer poured a nice golden orange colour with a creamy, thick, bright white head. To the nose there is scents of apricots, pineapple, ripe fruit, yeast and a little grass. First sip was smooth with just the right amount of carbonation. Bitter start, then tapered off to fruit flavours finishing with flavours of pineapple most prodominantly. The palate is slightly hoppy with fruit flavours lingering. nick76 (2634), Tampa, Florida, USA Jul 2, 2008 Updated: Jul 6, 2008The aroma is toasty with malt, chocolate, peach, pear, apricot, and yeast. The appearance is gold/amber with an average head. The flavor is not like the aroma. It is toasty with malt and maybe a hint of nuts but no fruitiness. The palate is average. Overall not too shabby but not as good as expected. SQNfan (591), Wheaton, Illinois, USA Jun 30, 2008 Bottle: While this didn’t blow me away it was a very enjoyable to drink alongside a great burger (DB). Medium-bodied and well-balanced it isn’t anything I will search out but one I would gladly drink again. craftbeerdesign (731), Alpharetta, Georgia, USA Jun 29, 2008 sample. a light blond color... some apricot and light hops in the aroma. not as fruity as I expected it would be... the apricot is present in the perfect fashion.... just in the background. thin to medium body... somewhat light feel. decent finish. it really is a not-quite pale ale as Magic Hat declares... very easy to drink and very refreshing. ksurkin (355), Norfolk, Virginia, USA Jun 28, 2008 Updated: Dec 18, 2008draft at sobo in norfolk. color is a bright, clear, orange with a thin, white head. the aroma is the best part of this beer. scents of apricot, orange, peach, and pear dominate with some hops in the background. the flavor does not quite live up to the aroma but is still quite good. mostly dry, fruity hops that are well balanced with the malt. very easy drinking and smooth of the swallow. based on the aroma, this beer could be spectacular but the flavor needs some catching up. Crafty07 (391), Florence, Kentucky, USA Jun 28, 2008 well made apricot infused pale that has the distinct body and character of an American Wheat (with fruit)
The hop-heads wont’ like it but this is a delicious summertime ale.
