Commercial Description:
A Beer Cloaked in Secrecy An ale whose mysterious and unusual palate will swirl across your tongue and ask more questions than it answers. A beer brewed clandestinely and given a name whose meaning is never revealed. Why #9? Why, indeed. A sort of dry, crisp, fruity, refreshing, not-quite pale ale. #9 is really impossible to describe because there’s never been anything else quite like it. Fermented with our 150 year old strain of top-fermenting English yeast.

Bottle at Monks Café Wallingatan, Stockholm. Pours slightly hazy with a firm head. Fruity and dry, nice rasberry tartness.

Bottle pours clear golden with a thin white head. Aroma is bread and citrus hops. First taste is sweet bread then a light citrus note. Finish is clean. Decent but should describe beer a little better on bottle.

On tap. Pours gold. Nose is subtle biscuit, some citrus. Flavor is a clean biscuity malt, toasty grain, some citrus, mild mild hints of apricot and citrus hops. I remember this beer being way better years ago.

A hazy golden beer with little head. Aroma was malty, & sour fruit. The taste is rmalty with a slightly sour finish. The best thing about this beer is the bottle. I guess they have to pump up this beer with the ’cloaked in secrecy ale whose mysterious and unusual palate’ & ’ impossible to describe.’ I assure you that does not apply as their is nothing mysterious about it, & impossible to describe should be saved for other beers worth that moniker.

Pours a golden amber with a frothy but short lived white head. The aroma has a lot of apricot, peach and bready malt to it. Can sense some noble-type hops as well. Quite sweet at first, but fades into a fruity apricot taste, with very slight hops and some light spice. Annoyingly sweet throughout, but flavorful. Medium bodied with light carbonation.

Pint on Tap. Orange colored with an off-white head. Smells like apricot. Tastes like apricot with sugary sweetness reminiscent of a Belgian. Leaves an apricot aftertaste. I was not impressed with this at all and would actually avoid.

12oz - Aroma is grassy, doughy wet malts. Flavor matches with just the slightest hint of citrus hops. Palate is clean. Bland and boring.
