A Beer Cloaked in Secrecy An ale whose mysterious and unusual palate will swirl across your tongue and ask more questions than it answers. A beer brewed clandestinely and given a name whose meaning is never revealed. Why #9? Why, indeed. A sort of dry, crisp, fruity, refreshing, not-quite pale ale. #9 is really impossible to describe because thereís never been anything else quite like it. Fermented with our 150 year old strain of top-fermenting English yeast.

A amber color ale with fruit and earth aromas followed by the sweetness of apricots. The finish is a bit flat. Overall, slightly better than average for my tastes.

From 12 oz bottle, variety pack, had this on numerous occasions, but Iím making effort in 2015 to actually leave some comments

Aroma: Caramel, Citrus, Fruitiness, Apricots

Appearance: Amber, clear to hazy, white head

Taste: Heavy sweet, medium bitter

Palate: light body, slick texture, average carbonation, long bitter/apricot finish

Overall: Tastes like what I expect a Pale Ale with Apricots to taste like. Nothing crazy, but itís a solid fruit ale. Nice clear and a bit fruity. I can see why itís a gateway beer into other styles. Itís a bit too sweet for me and Iím not a fan of apricots, but itís really not a bad beer.

It pours golden with a white head. It has earthly aromas, with citrus and dried fruits. It is sweet with the taste of dried fruits, cherries and earthly elements. It has a semi dry, sweet finish that is made lively by the carbonation.

Pours a lovely amber with a frothy, off-white head. Decent retention. Lots of stick lacing. Nose is reminiscent of spunky apple cider. Apricot comes through nicely. Just a hint of something medicinal. Taste is predominately sweet, but there are pronounced hop notes. Medium body. Lively carbonation. Decent brew.

Light gold color this beer has an interesting aroma but is way to apricotty in its flavor. Different but maybe a little too much so.

Slight fruity apricot aroma with lagerish malty backbone. Not sweet. A bit more malt than a lager, but has a lager feel to it. Drinkable and ok if given, but nothing special. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Small sample from wifeís glass. On tap at MacGregors. Sweet peaches, some light malts and avtiuch of bittering hops. Thin mouthfeel. Meh.

First tasted at Woodyís woodfired pizza in Boston in 1999 the magic of this beer has captivated me ever since. The apricot flavor is just the right amount to be enjoyable and not overpowering. A good beer for a summer day with burgers or pizza. Available in bottles and cans but inside the bottlecaps you get to read funny bits of wisdom with each beer. My favorites: Dogs are King of Everything. Does killing time damage eternity?

Golden orange pour with quickly dissipating white head. Aroma is berries/fruit and a hint of yeast. Flavor is fruit up front, lots of carbonation, alcohol, no noticeable hops. Not bad for a shandy.

Bottle pour. Hazy golden with a foamy white head. Apricot and bright fruit aroma. Creamy medium body. Bright fruit taste. Generally not a fan of fruit beers, but this is actually really good.
