Commercial Description:
A Beer Cloaked in Secrecy An ale whose mysterious and unusual palate will swirl across your tongue and ask more questions than it answers. A beer brewed clandestinely and given a name whose meaning is never revealed. Why #9? Why, indeed. A sort of dry, crisp, fruity, refreshing, not-quite pale ale. #9 is really impossible to describe because there’s never been anything else quite like it. Fermented with our 150 year old strain of top-fermenting English yeast.

Bottle. Light amber pour w/ very little lacing. Hints of fruit, but not fruity! I enjoyed this offering, nice session beer.

Pours golden/light amber with a pretty thick white head that doesn’t want to go away. Hints of apricot/orange in the smell. Spritzy fruit taste right off the bat but leaves an almost stale taste after that. Not awful but too many would make me sick.

Interesting fruity taste. Not so much on the hops, and not anything identifiable right off the bat, but not entirely unpleasant. Good summer beer.

The first pour gives off a mild apricot smell. The taste has a hit of apricot and other fruits (orange slightly). I love the taste of this beer in the summer. It has a medium body but a nice mild taste.

a beer that seems to be unsure what it’s trying to be. too much fruit to be considered a hint, not enough to be a true fruit beer. apparent use of fruit syrup leads to a sweet, cloying beer that just doesn’t deliver

On Tap somewhere in Grand Rapids, Mich, where the bartender told me it was a pale ale. Very disappointing. Golden color. Fruity nose. Gross, fruity, sticky taste. Medium body. I’d give it a second shot, maybe.

Suprisingly this is a classified as a fruit beer, but either way it’s great. Magic #9 is aromatic with a hint of neutral to sweet fruti. It’s appearance is bordering on plain to different, depending on your exp. Flavor and palate work together to give you a very consistent force and brew.

Pretty amber gold color. Quick vanishing head. Lot of fruit and some hop in the aroma. Nice fruit/apricot taste. Not too sweet or to sour. Something slightly off to me though. I want to say it tastes fake.
