Commercial Description:
A Beer Cloaked in Secrecy An ale whose mysterious and unusual palate will swirl across your tongue and ask more questions than it answers. A beer brewed clandestinely and given a name whose meaning is never revealed. Why #9? Why, indeed. A sort of dry, crisp, fruity, refreshing, not-quite pale ale. #9 is really impossible to describe because there’s never been anything else quite like it. Fermented with our 150 year old strain of top-fermenting English yeast.

Quite fruity, nectar taste. Overall, not too spectacular, but certainly different from other beers.

Smells heavily of apricot, not much else. Pours a nice light copper color with almost no head. Taste is strong apricot flavor in a fairly generic pale ale. Not bad, but nothing amazing. I’m curious if they use real apricot at all

Pours a hazy amber with a quickly dissipating head. Aroma is of peach and malt. Taste is good, but a bit dry for a fruit beer.

This is so cool. How did they get a beer to taste like Nag Champa?

Pours amber with a thin off white-head. Fairly light aroma of caramel, syrupy peaches, and some light hops. Flavor is light, somewhat fruity, and barely hopped. Palate is light and watery, slightly bitter, but mostly watery. Why do they insist on the whole mystery marketing scheme. Apricots people!, it’s a cheap version of aprihop. The #9 part I’m not sure, but what else could it possibly refer to than the movie or song, or at the very least a batch number, but I think that’s highly unlikely. Hooray for marketing! Anyway, not bad, but really not much to this at all.

Bottle. Interesting fog that lifts from open bottle. Quite mysterious. Clear gold, with a dense off-white head. Fruity aroma, that I would describe as spicy peach. Smooth and dry for a fruit beer. Not sure what the fruit is, perhaps prunes? Better than most fruit beers.

Pours dark golden with white, quickly dissipating head. Aroma of light malt and unidentifiable fruit. Taste is spicy, light malt, some very mild fruit essence, hop bitterness pronounced. Thin body, very dry with no aftertaste. Not bad, very drinkable.
