Commercial Description:
A Beer Cloaked in Secrecy An ale whose mysterious and unusual palate will swirl across your tongue and ask more questions than it answers. A beer brewed clandestinely and given a name whose meaning is never revealed. Why #9? Why, indeed. A sort of dry, crisp, fruity, refreshing, not-quite pale ale. #9 is really impossible to describe because there’s never been anything else quite like it. Fermented with our 150 year old strain of top-fermenting English yeast.

on tap at capital ale house, richmond va. nov 6th... Very dark golden almost amber color.. smells very crisp and clean. did not know this was a fruit beer going into it and probably wouldnt have ordered it had I known.. boy, would I have missed out on an incredible beer!!! Very roasty almost smokey hit to the palate with an exceptionally smooth, crisp clean finish with no lingering.. Airy, fresh hops lace each sip giving it a truely pleasant fill.. nothing overpowering just a smooth ride the whole time! one of my new favs

Pours a golden yellow color with a nice white head. Slight fruity aroma, but not much else. Wow, upon first sip you get this massive hit of apricot flavor that transcends into a bitter, slightly hop ending.Leaves a slightly malty aftertaste. This is a very interesting brew! Thanks Ubamartian!

12 oz bottle. Clear light amber with a thin white head. A slight fruity note to the nose. A lot of apricot flavor, I can taste the pit too. A clean finish. A bit thin.

Pours a soft amber. Aroma is sweet and fruity. Light malty scent, but mostly fruit. Taste is crisp and cool, but full. Solid malty flavor, with strong notes of apricot that dance on the tongue. Overall flavor is quite complex though. Good solid fruit beer.

Draft at The Gypsy Hut. Sweet aroma with some hops, amber color, small but lasting head with some lacing, mostly sweet flavor with the hops coming through mostly in the finish. If there’s apricot in this it isn’t noticeable. If you want a pronounced apricot flavor, try Columbus Apricot Ale. Still, not a bad brew--kind of like a lighter version of Moerlein OTR Ale

Dark gold pour with a fluffy white head. Yeasty, fruity nose with a dash of apricot and hops. Flavor is much the same. refreshing but not overpowering in its fruitiness. Pleasant.

pours a light amber with a white head. floral aroma with touches of citrus, apricot, and spice. taste is gentle apricot, citrus, some esters, a little sweet. smooth mouthfeel with a decent amount of carbonation. not much of an aftertaste, but a bit of bitter apricot lingers. would make a very nice session beer. pretty good, better than i was expecting.
