ubamartian (155), Watertown, Wisconsin, USA Oct 22, 2007 On Tap. Pours clean deep gold. Small head that dissipates rather quickly. Aroma is lightly apricot, heavier on the hop, and a mix of spices. The flavor is much the same, with the apricot and hops to start finishing with a bit of a spices. The feeling is light, but the spices and apricot give it a mischevious edge. The finish is a subtle version of the same tastes and aromas, with a slight lingering, tending towards the dry side. nd1748 (40), dundalk, Maryland, USA Oct 22, 2007 got this draft in PA ok glad the apricot isn’t over done orange, clear, white foam, dmtroyer (409), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 21, 2007 Draft. Relatively original in flavor profile, this pours a light orange clear body with loads of carbonation leaping up the glass. Fairly refreshing, thank god the apricot is hardly present. Some light hops, get a pitcher of this when there is nothing else. raiderfost (158), virginia beach, Virginia, USA Oct 21, 2007 Updated: Dec 13, 2007Horrible!!!!!!! I would have to say the worst I.P.A. i have ever tasted. This beer did nothing for my inpression of magic hat.
Wow its been a few months and i simply thought about this beer and puked in my mouth! DaveB (73), Holyoke, Massachusetts, USA Oct 16, 2007 On tap at an outdoor wedding reception in Masachusetts. My other choices were two Anheiser Busch products and Bass Ale.
The Magjic Hat poured amber in color with a medium head. Very pleasant taste, not too fruity , nice and smooth with an easy finish. It didn’t knock me on my can like BBC Steel Rail Ale does.
There must have been some other Magic Hat #9 fans there because they had to deliver a 2nd keg later in the day. tunneler (112), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA Oct 15, 2007 Thin and golden with fruit flavors (apricots) and a short finish. Enough hops to keep it from cloying. pantani (1894), Salinas, California, USA Oct 12, 2007 Amber with a thin off white head. Lightly hoppy with crystal malts, slight fruitiness. Taste is a little hoppiness, raw maltiness, almost a wheat character. SynergyXJ (506), Blacksburg, Virginia, USA Oct 12, 2007 Bottle Straw pour with great white microbubble head. Very sweet fruity aroma. Flavor is fruity but has some astringency I don’t remember tasting on draught. Better on tap.
