Commercial Description:
A Beer Cloaked in Secrecy An ale whose mysterious and unusual palate will swirl across your tongue and ask more questions than it answers. A beer brewed clandestinely and given a name whose meaning is never revealed. Why #9? Why, indeed. A sort of dry, crisp, fruity, refreshing, not-quite pale ale. #9 is really impossible to describe because there’s never been anything else quite like it. Fermented with our 150 year old strain of top-fermenting English yeast.

12oz bottle via trade with 46er3498 - thanks Tom! - Pours amber with a short white head that didn’t stay long. Aromas of apricots, some yeast, and light grains. Flavor is apricot dominated, but there is some caramel and a touch of toffee there at times too. Light airy palate. Very fruity. Not too bad as fruit beers go.

It’s a fruity pale ale. The taste is well balanced and good.

Tap at Hofbrau, Interlochen, MI.
An average amber color in a watery body that contains a slight hops bite with malt unertones in the nose pours into the glass. Tastes of candied strawberry and sweet hops. Weak champagne-like mouthfeel and finish. Not bad; refreshing.

Bottle. Pours light amber with a thin fizzy head that disappears quickly. Aroma is malt and overwhelming apricot. Bitter malty taste with that apricot coming through even more strongly. Refreshing and a sentimental favorite.

"It’s fun to drink" - pivo. Sweet peaches, apricots and also lemons aroma. Golden body, no head. Intense apricot flavor. Nice, but too thin.

There’s something in this beer that makes me think of a witbier. It’s really too dark and there’s not really anything suggesting wheat, but I wouldn’t be surprised if this had a bit of coriander. The vague fruitiness could be apricot or it could be orange peel. I’m not really sure.

Greetings from Virginia. Nice golden color with a small fluffy white head. Great floral aroma and taste with a decent hops presence and some really nice cherry notes to the taste. Quite good.
