COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A Beer Cloaked in Secrecy An ale whose mysterious and unusual palate will swirl across your tongue and ask more questions than it answers. A beer brewed clandestinely and given a name whose meaning is never revealed. Why #9? Why, indeed. A sort of dry, crisp, fruity, refreshing, not-quite pale ale. #9 is really impossible to describe because there’s never been anything else quite like it. Fermented with our 150 year old strain of top-fermenting English yeast.

330 mL and on tap. Pours a clear copper with a small white head that dwindles down to a thin layer. Aromas of dried apricot, bread, citrus. Taste is sour apricot with some white sugar and biscuity malts. Overall watery and very much apricot.

Pours a clear golden color with yeast in suspension, which surprises me a lot, very thin white head. Interesting aroma of apricots, malt and hops. The flavor is fruity, apricots, I also feel the skin of the fruit, with hops and malt, mild bitter finish. Medium body, oily texture, lively carbonation. Surprising, I thought it would be of little interest but I find it to be an interesting and easily drinkable fruit beer.

Light earthy like berry aroma from a deep golden pour. A fruitiness that is dry with just a hint of tartness. A tad thin and and a bit foamy. Not one of my favorite fruities.

Draft pint, Russell’s, Bloomsburg, PA. Pours a clear copper under a dense creamy off-white head. Very light visible carbonation. Aroma is very fruity with lots of citrus, lime, orange, a little pineapple and a little apricot. Flavor is just as fruity and citrusy as the aroma. Kinda reminds me of orange-aid. A little hoppiness on the finish but not enough bitterness to balance it out. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with lots of risidual sugars. Moderate fizzy carbonation. Overall, not one that I cared for too much.

Bottle at Stockholm Beerfestival. Hazy orange appearance. Very fruiy and a bit perfumy aroma of apricot. Fruity and sweet flavour of pine-apple candy. Short candyish aftertaste.

Strong apricot aroma, definately noticable on all levels. Great orange colour you'd expect from a nice pale ale. Good peach and apricot tones, but not enough beer tones. Some malt detected, but no hops...not a great beer.

Used to have this all the time, had it on draft @ The Saint Mark’s Ale House right near my old apartment in New York City. Pours copper with a thin ring of a bright white head. The nose is light sweet, a little bit of hops and malts. The taste is full bodied sweet and slightly fruity. Smooth palate not bad.
