Commercial Description:
A Beer Cloaked in Secrecy An ale whose mysterious and unusual palate will swirl across your tongue and ask more questions than it answers. A beer brewed clandestinely and given a name whose meaning is never revealed. Why #9? Why, indeed. A sort of dry, crisp, fruity, refreshing, not-quite pale ale. #9 is really impossible to describe because there’s never been anything else quite like it. Fermented with our 150 year old strain of top-fermenting English yeast.

Greetings from Virginia. Nice golden color with a small fluffy white head. Great floral aroma and taste with a decent hops presence and some really nice cherry notes to the taste. Quite good.

Bottle: Poured orangey color ale with almost no head or carbonation. Aroma is quite weak but I can distinguish some sweet fruity flavour and some malt. Taste is almost indescribable, like a mix between some poorly grown apricot (lacking flavour and sweetness) and malt that doesn’t do any favour to this mix. Like all fruit beer, they can be a wonderful experience when correctly balanced or a complete disaster when things go wrong, such as this case was. Almost needs to wonder if this was a bad bottle.

You can knock "fruity" tastes in beer. And, admitedly, when you hear apricot and beer, things can get a bit scary. However, Magic Hat has done a nice job with this one. Makes for a great "Black Magic" underneath Guinness and is a great way to finish a night of drinking. Nice malty / apricot flavor.

Pours with a golden amber body topped by a thin white head with a good amount of lace. Sweet and fruity (raspberries?) aroma with a hoppy background. Sweet and fruity (raspberry?) flavor with a hoppy background and a bitter finish. Light bodied and dry.

Draft at Gillette Stadium. Clear, medium dark gold body. Thin, foamy white film for a head. Spider-web like lacing of micro-bubbles. The aroma is very floral, with honey, indistinguishable light fruits, and sweet, cheap smelling malts. The flavor can only be described as an overly sweet cluster of mystery fruits, pale malts, and adjuncts with minimal hop bitterness. The body is on the light side of medium, with a light syrupy profile that does not settle well. This beer is like a science experiment gone wrong. Not recommended.

Draught, at Tabla, Madison Square, Manhattan.
Rich golden colour with a smooth fine creamy beige head. Lovely drink with my good buddy Funk. Crisp, refreshing, fruity flavour is smooth and inviting. Apricot and vanilla in equal measures. Could have easily drunk several more of these. Palate is silky and smooth.

Light gold color. Aroma and taste are much of the same; apricot perfume. Watery and thin.

Pour is peachy amber with a nice off white head...very citric aroma with oranges, pears, and apples...taste is all kinds of citric fruit...heavy on pears and oranges...bizarre bitter finish...not bad, just weird...
