COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Apricot flavouring
A Beer Cloaked in Secrecy An ale whose mysterious and unusual palate will swirl across your tongue and ask more questions than it answers. A beer brewed clandestinely and given a name whose meaning is never revealed. Why #9? Why, indeed. A sort of dry, crisp, fruity, refreshing, not-quite pale ale. #9 is really impossible to describe because there’s never been anything else quite like it. Fermented with our 150 year old strain of top-fermenting English yeast.

Bottle. It’s a clear, golden beer with a small, dense, off-white head. The aroma is bery berryish and sugary fruity, with some candy. The flavor is pretty much the same, with a pleasant bitterness and lemon notes. Medium body, quite dry. Fruity and berryish finish with a nice bitterness and some lemon peel. It’s a decent beer ondeed, but also rather boring. 121110

(Draught) Pours a cloudy yellow with a small white head. Has a strong apricot aroma and a clean fruity flavor. Nice and refreshing for a fruit beer.

Clear light copper body with quickly vanishing white head. Aroma is earthy hoppy, somewhat sweet, some apricot fruitiness. Taste is light -- moderately sweet apricot that’s tempered by some mild earthy hoppiness. Somewhat sticky on the palate, detracting from its summer-beer feeling.

On tap at Busboys and Poets. Orange color, off white head. Aroma of fruit and yeast. Decent malt, on the sweetish side with citrus and fruit notes. Mild bitter edge to the finish. OK.
