Commercial Description:
A Beer Cloaked in Secrecy An ale whose mysterious and unusual palate will swirl across your tongue and ask more questions than it answers. A beer brewed clandestinely and given a name whose meaning is never revealed. Why #9? Why, indeed. A sort of dry, crisp, fruity, refreshing, not-quite pale ale. #9 is really impossible to describe because there’s never been anything else quite like it. Fermented with our 150 year old strain of top-fermenting English yeast.

This wasn't bad. The label reads "not quite pale ale" so I was maybe expecting an ESB. Not until later did I discover that this is a fruit beer. The fruitiness is there, but not so overpowering to be objectionable to those who don't like a fruit beer. Although there's nothing like a Pale Ale anywhere in this beer, it is a smooth, drinkable beer worth trying.

Bottle. Pours clear bright orange with a thin white head. Fruit and nuts aroma with some herbal hops. Light body and medium carbonation. More fruit and nuts in the taste. Dry finish with almost no participation from the hops.

light golden with a halo of froth. nose of dried apricot. Flavors bring out more apricot but a cardboard-like maltiness. Beer is on the malty side with not much actual fruitiness coming through but fruity notes from interplays of hops and malts...or so i think...oh, i just read the label and it says brewed with essence of apricot...well ill be damned, my nose & palate are right on the mark as usual. I kick ass..the beer, well...its decent.

Clear honey amber color with a medium white head. Smell is sweet apricot and malt. Taste is mostly mild apricot and a light bitterness that keeps it from being cloying at all. Nice fruit beer overall. A bit thin, but very drinkable, and it has a really nice apricot flavor to it.

Light earthy like berry aroma from a deep golden pour. A fruitiness that is dry with just a hint of tartness. A tad thin and and a bit foamy. Not one of my favorite fruities.
