COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A Beer Cloaked in Secrecy An ale whose mysterious and unusual palate will swirl across your tongue and ask more questions than it answers. A beer brewed clandestinely and given a name whose meaning is never revealed. Why #9? Why, indeed. A sort of dry, crisp, fruity, refreshing, not-quite pale ale. #9 is really impossible to describe because there’s never been anything else quite like it. Fermented with our 150 year old strain of top-fermenting English yeast.

Hazy golden ale with a thick white head. Sourish apricot and lemon with wheat in aroma. Good malty base with some apricot and a good dose of sharp hops, crisp in mouth, a bit mineral. Medium bodied.

Künstlicher fruchtiger Geruch. So ist auch der Geschmack, künstlich fruchtig, dezent herber Abgang, gähn. Test vom 30.12.2006, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 9,7,7,6,7,7 - 7,05

Pale gold, thick white head. Hops and lunaria aromas's, as well as something perilously close to artificial sweetener. Taste yields apricot, bread-yeast - and that's it. How magic. Mouthfeel is like sparkling water: refreshing but empty. Oh well, well-tried. Not succeeded.

On tap - Waterfront Manhattan. A subtle fruity aroma. Mid brown colour with not much head. Fruity hoppy flavour but needing balance and served too cold. I didn't know this was a fruit beer at the time of drinking and am suprised to see its description. What fruit is it???

Dark gold color, clear, with light effervescence. First taste is light, thin and slightly tinny. Some lightly sharp metallic hops, perhaps with some lemon grass and anise flavors, more of the anise in the finish. Smell is airy, tinny, simple. Just leaves you wanting something more on the palate, just completely falls apart. There seem to be a number of problems with this one. At least it has a bit of crispness to it, but that doesn’t make me want to drink it regularly.

A sweet apricot juice gusto in the front turns to a fizzy, yeasty toffee...A strong, cumbersome comeback of the apricots then surges forth with a lingering, astringent bitterness...Same "thirst-quenching yet different" purpose and character as Unibroue's Ephémère line, without the wonderful Belgian yeast...

On tap. Pours a clear golden hue with a foam, off-white with some lace. Aroma is fruit (centering on apricot), wheat, honey and light hops. Taste is very wheaty, with honey glazed cereal, apricot and nectarine. Watery mouthfeel and forced carbonation.

Copper coloured. This has a toast and butter with toffee aroma. Flavours are smooth, if flat. A mellow IPA, even? Has a sour fruit finish. A weird beer.
