Commercial Description:
A Beer Cloaked in Secrecy An ale whose mysterious and unusual palate will swirl across your tongue and ask more questions than it answers. A beer brewed clandestinely and given a name whose meaning is never revealed. Why #9? Why, indeed. A sort of dry, crisp, fruity, refreshing, not-quite pale ale. #9 is really impossible to describe because there’s never been anything else quite like it. Fermented with our 150 year old strain of top-fermenting English yeast.

Weird disappearing rating. Rated recently via richlikebeer. I proceed again. Dark golden color with a thin wispy white head. Light fruit and sweet pale malt aromas. I don’t catch as much apricot as others. Sweet pale malt start with a light fruity middle, more in the lines of raisin and mild pears. Mild floral hops come in and help mellow te sweetness. Thinner and quite quenching.

Bottle drank at the RFD with Ungstrup Golden color, light head, some lacing. Nose is sweet, malty, the flavor is fruity, lots of apricot, a fairly bland and somewhat tart extract type of beer. Not what I was expecting with so many flashing cool neon signs around with this logo on it.

On tap at Rivermill Map Company, Blacksburg VA, July 2006. Amber colour. A pleasant, mellow beer. The apricot is clearly evident and there’s just a little sharp, hoppy bite. Not too sweet but the overall feel is perhaps just a touch too soft.

Draft Beer Sellar, KY. Poured hazy copper with a large frothy off-white head that was fully lasting and produced fair lacing. Medium orange citrus hoppy aroma. Medium body with a slick texture. Medium orange citrus flavor with a medium sweet finish of average duration. Interesting drinkable beer.

On tap - Waterfront Manhattan. A subtle fruity aroma. Mid brown colour with not much head. Fruity hoppy flavour but needing balance and served too cold. I didn't know this was a fruit beer at the time of drinking and am suprised to see its description. What fruit is it???

Copper coloured. This has a toast and butter with toffee aroma. Flavours are smooth, if flat. A mellow IPA, even? Has a sour fruit finish. A weird beer.

On draft at the Manayunk event. Pours gold, with aroma of malt, hops, slight citrus, and slight fruit. Tastes like a somewhat fruity, less hoppy pale, with a decent finish. Not bad.

Hazy golden ale with a thick white head. Sourish apricot and lemon with wheat in aroma. Good malty base with some apricot and a good dose of sharp hops, crisp in mouth, a bit mineral. Medium bodied.
