Commercial Description:
A Beer Cloaked in Secrecy An ale whose mysterious and unusual palate will swirl across your tongue and ask more questions than it answers. A beer brewed clandestinely and given a name whose meaning is never revealed. Why #9? Why, indeed. A sort of dry, crisp, fruity, refreshing, not-quite pale ale. #9 is really impossible to describe because there’s never been anything else quite like it. Fermented with our 150 year old strain of top-fermenting English yeast.

clear light copper, not much white head, just a trace of lace. nose of peach, tea, light hops. flavor is sweet tea, dried fruit, lightly hoppy. medium bodied, light dry finish. not bad, but i could not session this beer. there is some kind of lingering sweetness going on here that i could do without. on tap @ newark airport renaissance hotel.

Beer poured orange with light head. A little too sweet. Could have been a little fuller. I really liked this on my first taste at a beer fest...but later one of my friends really wrecked this beer for me by telling me it tasted like badly artificially flavored cough syrup. Bad friend. I can’t drink it anymore.

On tap at the RPI Pub Clubhouse. Pale red in color with almost no head. The aroma is very slight and difficult to distinguish. The taste however is quite refreshing. Notes of a pale ale come through, with a hoppy character. Also prevalent is a smooth yet hard-to-identify fruit flavor. A decent drink.

From the spring 12/pack. Compared to the 60-winks all I can ask is "what did they do different?’ What a waste of hops. NO aroma or flavor, maybe some mild British "must " hop in the aroma but that is rally reaching. NOt much of a beer.

Had this one on draught at the Buffalo Wild Wings in Geneva, Illinois. Deep, cloudy amber color with a thick, tan head, a very refreshing fruity and bright hoppy nose, flavors are brassy, with pronounced fruitiness but complexity of baked bread and malt. Excellent balance, with a very smack-your-lips tasty finish. Outstanding.

orangy gold body with light off white head. Sweet aroma of fruits however this was very light on the nose. Somewhat watery on the palate with underlying sweetness and light hop bitters.
