COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A Beer Cloaked in Secrecy An ale whose mysterious and unusual palate will swirl across your tongue and ask more questions than it answers. A beer brewed clandestinely and given a name whose meaning is never revealed. Why #9? Why, indeed. A sort of dry, crisp, fruity, refreshing, not-quite pale ale. #9 is really impossible to describe because there’s never been anything else quite like it. Fermented with our 150 year old strain of top-fermenting English yeast.

Pours hazy golden orange with thin off white head. Nose is subtle apricot and not much else. The flavor is subtle bitterness and apricot mid, finishing with a pleasant nuttiness.

typical light amber pour. aroma of mostly apricot with malt. flavor starts with the malts, then apricot pokes through and dominates the end of the sip and the aftertaste. extremely refreshing, superb session beer.

Draft sample at Stub & Herbs. Dark gold in colour with medium carbonation. Aromas of candied apricot, lychee, and caramel. More of an apricot and peach combo in the mouth along with pale malts and a bit of toast. Somewhat sweet finishing. Not bad overall, but not something I’d be in a hurry to drink more of.

Flour City Brew Fest. I was expecting alittle more from this. Sure it was and ok beer and somewhat smooth. But the build up that this was going to be some mysteriously great beer, let me down when it was ordinary.

Bottle. Aroma of somewhat tart apricots and some leafy hops. Flavor follows suit, is slightly sweeter and juicier than expected, but still also has the tart side and the mildly hoppy side. What can I say, it hit the spot.

Chilled light orange with a medium-sized, frothy egg-white head. Pleasant, fruity aroma of sweet peaches and brown sugar. Medium sweetness, lightly bitter taste with prickly carbonation and a mildly oily feel. Dry finish, some cardboard and almonds underneath nectarine fruitiness. Interesting - I would gladly drink this again.

Yellow/amber color. Aroma of peaches and apricots. Body is thin, and the peach/apricot flavor is just about all that is there. There is a little bitterness. Not much to write home about.

Clear copper with a small off-white head. Very faint aroma of light fruit. Flavor has notes of raspberries, strawberries and some caramel. Ends watery with no aftertaste. Moderately sweet, no bitterness detected. Medium body with a smooth texture and lively carbonation. No lacing or head retention. Drinkable but extremely boring.
