COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Apricot flavouring
A Beer Cloaked in Secrecy An ale whose mysterious and unusual palate will swirl across your tongue and ask more questions than it answers. A beer brewed clandestinely and given a name whose meaning is never revealed. Why #9? Why, indeed. A sort of dry, crisp, fruity, refreshing, not-quite pale ale. #9 is really impossible to describe because there’s never been anything else quite like it. Fermented with our 150 year old strain of top-fermenting English yeast.

Interesting... an ale described as a mystery beer? I tasted a fruity wheat beer more than an ale but it did have some characteristics of an ale. I believe Magic Hat collaborated a fruity wheat beer with an ale and this is what you get. A beer that makes you wonder if you’re drinking an ale or a wheat. I tasted Apricot and Peach flavors.

(Bottle) Clear golden, good head. Lovely intriguing aroma with hints of exotic fruit overlaying malt and candy sweetness. Light body with good carbonation. Like the aroma, the taste has some intriguing exotic fruitiness and some distinct candy notes well integrated into a nice light malt pale ale, with some hop bitterness in the finish. I was really impressed by this beer - excellent.

Bottle after finals week, thanks to Greg. Pours a golden orange appearance with an off white head. Somewhat spicy, apricot, stone fruity, citrusy, herbal aroma. Quite malty flavor with a lot of fruity notes- pineapple, apricot, apple, and some yeasty notes. Not bad.

Bottle - 12oz. Golden body with an average white foamy head. Well balanced malty/hoppy aroma with some sweet and herbal hints. Taste is slightly dominated by malty flavors. It carries candy notes and ends with a short bittersweet finish. Ordinary.

More IPA than fruit beer as description indicates. Heavier than most in this category but still refreshing. No as apricot full than suggests.

Gold body with a bubbly white head. Grainy, bran, light apricot, and dried leaves aromas. Flavor is mildly sweet, rather dry. Body medium with fine carbonation. I seem to remember this being sweeter and more apricot aroma...

translucent golden color, thin white lace, bland pale ale smell with some spice. Overall a nice taste that stays even throughout.

Malty. Fizzy. Not disgusting, but just plain old boring. No hopping to speak of, and I can’t tell if the faint strange aftertaste is mild skunk or supposed to be the fruitiness advertised. Apricot? I feel as though I only barely taste it because it was suggested in the commercial description. I’m glad I didn’t buy a six-pack; one bottle is enough for me.

Pours a Clear brown/golden with a finger of creamy head. No carbonation. Slight lacing that slides right down the glass. Aroma is sweet and yeasty. Big grape note mixed witg Apple. Mouth is very bitter and sweet which is awesome. Slight booziness and yeast. Grape and apple are present. Not my style at all.
