Commercial Description:
A Beer Cloaked in Secrecy An ale whose mysterious and unusual palate will swirl across your tongue and ask more questions than it answers. A beer brewed clandestinely and given a name whose meaning is never revealed. Why #9? Why, indeed. A sort of dry, crisp, fruity, refreshing, not-quite pale ale. #9 is really impossible to describe because there’s never been anything else quite like it. Fermented with our 150 year old strain of top-fermenting English yeast.

On tap at The Cabana in Cape May, NJ. Poured a clear amber with minimal head. Aroma of hops, fruit and yeast. Very interesting flavor -- had a good hop presence but not piney, a malt sweetness mixed with apricots. Very refreshing and really a unique taste, quite satisfying. I’ll definitely get this again.

Draught. Nose is sweet fruit- cherries, apricot, peach, grapes. Golden orange with active carbonation and thin head. Palate is a little thin but crisp. Flavor is subdued aforementioned fruit with a nice hop finish. Well-balanced fruit beer.

Beautiful golden color wit a thin white head.Fruity aroma, Orange/Apricot mix. Nice crisp fruit flavor, but not sweet, reminds me an of a Wit yet is completly different. Refreshing and easy to drink mass quantities of this there is some hoppy dryness to the finish. I like it, will make a great summer on the deck beer.

Smell is really sweet and fruity. Pours an almost pink. No head to speak of or lacing for that matter. Tastes alot like the smell, peachy and slightly hoppy but not overwhelming on either note. Dry mouthfeel. Good beer.

Has a very distinct and unique flavor. I haven’t found anything else like it. It definitely is right on the verge of being a pale ale just like they say.

I really enjoyed this beer. The slight apricot aroma and flavor pulled me in even though I’m not a fan of fruit in beer. This beer had a clean, snappy and hoppy finish. I love that slight hop bitterness at the end. Nothing worse than a sweet beer. If I wanted sweet I’d have poured a Coke.

bottle poured into a pint glass - golden color with a fruity smell. it has a refreshing and fruity flavor to it. the first sip reminds me right away of Goose Island Blueberry Ale. i can’t pinpoint the fruits that went into making it but it’s good.

I am not a fan of fruit beers, but I have always really enjoyed #9. A great session beer, available all over (at least near me). Pours a orange/brown with a moderate head that dissipates quickly. Smell of malt, and apricot extract. It is a nice balanced mixture of aromas. Taste is a solid pale ale with a hint of apricot that is well in balance. I think most fruit beer have difficulty wiht this balance, I like that #9 is a beer first, with a hint of apricot. Mouthfeel and Drinkability are solid for a session beer. I like these in the summer on the patio at the bar.
