COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Apricot flavouring
A Beer Cloaked in Secrecy An ale whose mysterious and unusual palate will swirl across your tongue and ask more questions than it answers. A beer brewed clandestinely and given a name whose meaning is never revealed. Why #9? Why, indeed. A sort of dry, crisp, fruity, refreshing, not-quite pale ale. #9 is really impossible to describe because there’s never been anything else quite like it. Fermented with our 150 year old strain of top-fermenting English yeast.

This was an oddity. I think I got a bad bottle because I tasted no fruit. There was some wheatiness to it as well as some malt and hops. The pour was a clear orange with no head. Put this beer back in the magic hat and make it disappear.

Pretty bland and unexciting, but still drinkable. Not much "fruitiness" picked out. It’s like somebody slammed a lemon and orange together and popped a little of it’s essence in the beer. I could see this as a good summer session beer for some, but this wasn’t anything I’d purposely go out of my way for. (Bottle Pour 7/3/2007)

UPDATED: APR 11, 2012 I found this one a bit stale and uninteresting, a touch fruity for me and lacking of any focus. UPDATE almost 2 years later, still feel the same.

Straw colored and poured with almost no head. The smell of apricots take over in this brew. A malty lightly carbonated offering with a slight hop and apricot flavor in the finish. Overall a decent fruit beer on a hot summer day.

Künstlicher fruchtiger Geruch. So ist auch der Geschmack, künstlich fruchtig, dezent herber Abgang, gähn. Test vom 30.12.2006, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 9,7,7,6,7,7 - 7,05

Poured a deep, clear yellow with a decent head. Fruity/citris nose with a thin taste. Not too much fruit, but not so refreshing. Average at best.

12oz bottle pours a golden/orange with a very thin white head. Aroma is malty with berries and apricot, smells like malted cough syrup. Taste is malty with grain and fruits, kinda like a generic kids cereal. Pretty bad but not horribly offensive.

On draft at buffalo wild wings in Philly. Golden pour, and slight raspberry in the taste, also a little metallic. Pretty good though.

Pours dark amber with a small head. Nose shows apricot and floral notes, with bland malt underneath. Pretty faint. Some apricot is present as a flavour too, but mainly it’s just cardboard and slightly grainy malt which spoils it. Body seems watery.

Tastes smoky and nutty to me. Unique. Tastes like it smells. I have drank several times from both bottle and mason jar.Maybe a little over rated by people that have referred me to this beer.
