Commercial Description:
A Beer Cloaked in Secrecy An ale whose mysterious and unusual palate will swirl across your tongue and ask more questions than it answers. A beer brewed clandestinely and given a name whose meaning is never revealed. Why #9? Why, indeed. A sort of dry, crisp, fruity, refreshing, not-quite pale ale. #9 is really impossible to describe because there’s never been anything else quite like it. Fermented with our 150 year old strain of top-fermenting English yeast.

Sweet peach/apricot nose with a copper body and tasty light apricot hops flavor. I like this beer because the fruit flavor isn't overwhelming like many fruity beers.

Cloudy amber color with a small head and a slight apricot aroma. Taste was that of hops and dominated by apricots. A decent beer!

Dan, Thanks for sending me the collection of Magic Hat, Great Trade!

Pours a copper colored body and a bountiful, fluffy, frothy white head. The aroma is very fruity.. mostly apricots and peach... I was not expecting this at all. I take a swig… yep, more peach and apricot, a tangy hoppy bite in the finish, some malty notes of toasted wheat bread. The palate is medium, and boy, this beer leaves tons of lacing along the glass. This was a pretty good…. Oh, I thought it was a fruit beer after sampling it, but I was under the impression before hand that it was an APA for some reason…

Sampled at Real Beer Expo (Rochester). Med. golden colour, no head. Caramel, toffee and apricot on the nose. Fairly carbonated and med. bodied. Definite apricot finish. Fairly balanced.

Light apricot and peachy aroma that translates into some taste. coppery and well presented. (the tap handles are well marketed.) Fruity. Popular with the ladies. Not my everyday choice but ok on a hot day.

Rated while drinking: Pours a see-through gold with a big fluffy white head. Lots of sweet fruity smells going on in the aroma. Apricot is definitely upfront. Much more natural smelling than other fruit beers, that are usually done with some artificial extract. Flavor is well balanced for a fruit beer. True, the apricot taste hits a little hard, but backs off and lets the malts and hops have their say. Very tasty flavor profile. Crisp on the palate, leaving the tongue a bit dry; but nothing harsh in there. Unlike some other fruit beers, this one is very easy to drink. Good flagship beer for Magic Hat. Can be drunk during any season.

Had on draft whle visiting Philadelphia. From seeing the other rating, I guess I have a much higher opinion of this beer than others. Felt the beer poured a nice orange color. Thought the beer had a tsate of sweet fruit. Smelt like an orange. Was my first time having a Magic Hat after hearing about the brewer for years and make me want to try more of its brands.
