COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Apricot flavouring
A Beer Cloaked in Secrecy An ale whose mysterious and unusual palate will swirl across your tongue and ask more questions than it answers. A beer brewed clandestinely and given a name whose meaning is never revealed. Why #9? Why, indeed. A sort of dry, crisp, fruity, refreshing, not-quite pale ale. #9 is really impossible to describe because there’s never been anything else quite like it. Fermented with our 150 year old strain of top-fermenting English yeast.

on tap at Mellow Mushroom, Raleigh. Deep gold, intense aroma but not too strong. Nice flavor, complex, but was hard to pick out much individually.

This is just so hard to explain. The aroma is just wow, appearance is good, but the flavor is so complex. I love this beer. Plain and simple.

This is an awesome brew. It is clean on the palate and has a very subtle hint of apricot. It is ultra smooth and is one of my favorite beers that is remotely east to find.

Bottles. As others have said the apricot flavor can be rather overpowering to ones palate. A great beer for bbq’s and other summer activities as its not overwhelming in alcohol content.

UPDATED: MAR 6, 2010 Pours golden orange with average white head. Aromas of citrus and caramel malts. Taste is somewhat complex, grapefruit and apricot fruitness mixed with caramels and yeast with a hint of a bitter hop finish. Very enjoyable, I look forward to trying this again. Re-rate: found this on tap in Port Huron, MI. Boosting the Aroma, Palate and Flavor by 1 point each, Overall by 2. Excellent beer.

Interesting sweet, fruity aroma tied to coffe-cake scent. Full off white head on very slightly fogged, honey yellow beer. Taste is decidedly sweet but not cloying. Apricot flavors apparent in the finish with well established bitterness. Nice body. Very good ale.

A really great beer. Great aroma and taste. When I feel I want a whole six pack to satifisfy my craving for the taste of pale ales, this is my go to. Great smooth taste.

One of my favorites. It’s a complex, fruity, IPA style beer that is like no other I’ve tried. Has a strong floral hoppy aroma. Pours a darkish amber color with a small head. Many complex fruit/hops taste and must be cold to enjoy. An awesome fruit IPA in my opinion.

Light, just the right carbonation and great taste. The aftertaste leaves something to be desired, though.
