3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 PorterPounder (3944) - Tallahassee, USA - NOV 6, 2009
Tallahassee, Fl. - Market Square Liquors, 22 oz bomber. One of those beers I always thought I had rated - had it plenty of times on tap - only bought it because of the price ($2.49 - glad I did!). Dark golden pour, sticky, thick white head.Fruity aroma -hard to describe - some peaches, yeast, a hint of spice. Flavor has some buttery notes, a hint of spice, faint citrus notes. Mouthfeel has a pleasant spritziness to it. Remionds me somewhat of a Saison.
2.2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 PD4Ever (14) - Kansas City, Missouri, USA - FEB 9, 2012
12oz bottle poured into pilsner glass. Best by date Jan 31 2012 which was about a week ago.
Aroma: earthy smell, slightly metallic. somewhat skunky. it doesnt smell like fresh fruit. possibly spoiled fruit. little bit of alcohol smell.
Appearance: copperish brown color and poured extremly clear. hardly any head that faded almost instantly. very few bubbles
Taste: sweet and a bit fruity. could be pear. sour aftertaste with just a hint of bitter.
Palate: light body but a thick texture. average carbonation. and a short bitter/sour aftertaste
Overall: Had this once before on draft and remembered liking it but didn’t really do much for me this time. Wont be buying this one again.
2.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 ccex (119) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - FEB 6, 2012
Pours a hazy orange with a tiny white head. My one word summary of this beer is "apricot", which dominates the smell, aroma, and finish. Body and carbonation are average. Finish is sour. I regret buying a six pack of these, given so many better alternatives.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Tycho52 (18) - California, USA - FEB 5, 2012
Poured to a hazy gold, with a nice white head. Aroma was certainly fruity, and the taste followed. It was overly fruity (apricot?), and was decent, but not memorable. Dropped off the palate right away - perhaps it was too watery.
Recommended by the cashier at my local liquor store, I’ve got to discount his rec’s in the future.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 mcmisko (124) - - FEB 4, 2012
Appears amber with fluffy white head. Smells floral and fruity. Taste like ripe summer fruits, caramel malts, and has a watery but clean and bitter after taste. Carbonation is crisp. This is a decent beer.
2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 Crompt (28) - Clover, South Carolina, USA - FEB 4, 2012
Smells of apricot rotten fruit. This is not a good fruit beer. very watery and sour. Drinkable but not something I’d buy if better options are available.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 rman18 (293) - South Amboy, New Jersey, USA - FEB 3, 2012
This is average... The beer has a fruity flavor to it that is best for the summer and especially off tap. Refreshing.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 NordicV (293) - 21213, SWEDEN - JAN 29, 2012
1.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 5/20 loveyeast76 (3) - Alabama, USA - JAN 24, 2012 does not count
Thought provoking is the best thing I can say for this brew. Nasty is the worst. The aroma is fruitty and interesting but the flavors are off with an unpleasant finish. The marketing slogan for this beer leads me to believe that Magic Hat brewed up a dog and tried to find a way to sell it rather than dump it. They should have dumped it.
