Commercial Description:
A Beer Cloaked in Secrecy An ale whose mysterious and unusual palate will swirl across your tongue and ask more questions than it answers. A beer brewed clandestinely and given a name whose meaning is never revealed. Why #9? Why, indeed. A sort of dry, crisp, fruity, refreshing, not-quite pale ale. #9 is really impossible to describe because there's never been anything else quite like it. Fermented with our 150 year old strain of top-fermenting English yeast.

the overall beer is bad. what makes it of note is the apricot finish.... just enough to make this not taste like macromuck. anyway i know i need more so i had it in the baltimore airport. out of a bottle into a tumbler. i remember when i thought this was an awesome beer.

Bottle Pours out a ligth orange topped with a white head. Aroma of fruit and light malts but mostly pears. Tast more of the sweet fruit pear and a lot of pit fruit. Malts and light hops on the end.

Pours yellow with a finger of bright white, rapidly dissipating head. Apricots dominate the aroma- very pungent. Not as fruity tasting as I expected- starts off with some slight apricot flavor, and ends with a strong bitterness. Not really my kind of beer....

Poured a nice light amber color with a small white head. Aroma is mainly of apricots and a little bit of hops. Flavor is much the same, apricots, wheaty, and a bit of hops.

This beer poured a nice golden orange colour with a creamy, thick, bright white head. To the nose there is scents of apricots, pineapple, ripe fruit, yeast and a little grass. First sip was smooth with just the right amount of carbonation. Bitter start, then tapered off to fruit flavours finishing with flavours of pineapple most prodominantly. The palate is slightly hoppy with fruit flavours lingering.

The aroma is toasty with malt, chocolate, peach, pear, apricot, and yeast. The appearance is gold/amber with an average head. The flavor is not like the aroma. It is toasty with malt and maybe a hint of nuts but no fruitiness. The palate is average. Overall not too shabby but not as good as expected.
