Commercial Description:
A Beer Cloaked in Secrecy An ale whose mysterious and unusual palate will swirl across your tongue and ask more questions than it answers. A beer brewed clandestinely and given a name whose meaning is never revealed. Why #9? Why, indeed. A sort of dry, crisp, fruity, refreshing, not-quite pale ale. #9 is really impossible to describe because there's never been anything else quite like it. Fermented with our 150 year old strain of top-fermenting English yeast.

This beer poured a nice golden orange colour with a creamy, thick, bright white head. To the nose there is scents of apricots, pineapple, ripe fruit, yeast and a little grass. First sip was smooth with just the right amount of carbonation. Bitter start, then tapered off to fruit flavours finishing with flavours of pineapple most prodominantly. The palate is slightly hoppy with fruit flavours lingering.

bottle poured into a pint glass - golden color with a fruity smell. it has a refreshing and fruity flavor to it. the first sip reminds me right away of Goose Island Blueberry Ale. i can’t pinpoint the fruits that went into making it but it’s good.

Absolutely one of my favorites. A great, light, crisp taste which doesn’t overwhelm and always refreshes. The soft amber color and the fresh scent are always inviting.

Pours amber with a finger of white head. Aroma is very fruity and sweet, but the beer has a little bit of bite to it. It still maintains the fruity taste, but the light hop kick keeps the flavors crisp. This is definitely a unique brew.

Bottle at Mad Mex (Monroeville). Pours a clear amber, thin white head. Aroma is malt, some hops and floral notes. Flavor is a little sweet, apricot, maybe something else I can’t put my finger on. Nice smooth finish, easy drinking beer.

very odd. of course, this reeks of fruit. but also seems to have some kind of malt backbone. the weird part is that this seems to be the same malt (in aroma and flavor) as circus boy, but circus boy is a wheat? well, i guess maybe this is too. at any rate, unlike many other fruit beers out there which overwhelm you with fruit so much that you have little left to remind yourself its a beer, this at least has some kind of malt in there. hops are at a minimum but the fruit flavor is sort of subdued and more properly described, strange. very dull appearance, perfectly bland gold/yellow like a rice beer or urine, at least the aroma/flavor has something to offer. this is indeed intreguing.
