Was told directly by Magic Hat that this was an amber ale. Sparkling ambers and reds, small creamy off white head. Toasted caramel, buttery, some cherry with some light floral hop notes. Light flavors of all of the above with some sweet nutty notes rounding it out. Light bodied, smooth drying finish. Not good, not bad, just an ok drinkable ale.

Large offwhite head, good retention and sticky, stringy lacing. Clear, beautiful red hued ale. Nice big floral hop bouquet, fairly gutsy for MH. Medium body, silky mouthfeel. Lotsa hop with faint malt backing. The hops own the flavor profile, just not agressive enough, leaves you wanting more. Dry finish. One of MHs more interesting brews.

12 oz bottle, available only as the "mystery beer" in the Autumn 2004 mix 12-pack. I could find nothing about this beer on the incredibly slow and useless brewer website nor on any other site...the real mystery is, why does MH continue to make "special" beers that are just lame pale ales, brown ales, etc? This dreck is clear orange with a hint of pink, lightly sprucy in the nose...so far so good...but watery and bland on the tongue, with just a bit of caramel malt and virtually no hops. Completely forgettable; I’m glad I didn’t have to buy the whole stupid 12-pack.
