served at NYC Brewtopiafest. at this point in the festival, we had had enough to elicit some pretty funny commentary. My friend Wendy says that this concoction "smells a little like beer." and she would be right. but it also smells of interesting earthy aromas, dirt, manuer, cloves and banana. it tastes earthy, of dirt, grass and straw and there are equal bouts of cloves, banana and bubblegum. I like the raw and musky quality to it. really interesting though not necessarily one I’d want to sip and enjoy. good one guys...

One of my first wheat beers. Great thick golden pour that leads to a thick foamy head. Apperance was great, just like a hefeweizen should look, cloudy with post fermentation floating amongst the low CO2 bubbles. Taste was slick yet, delicious. Light palate and low bitterness. Definitely a great wheat beer to start on.

bleh! amber golden pour; wheat aroma - in my mind the hefe should be a thirst quencher, easy to drink with a little citrus. This is none of those. only positive is a med thick palate (for the style). passsssss.

12oz bottle: Pours a ver hazy golden brown color with lots of carbonation. Scents of citrus (lemon) and wheat. Taste is rather pleasant for a Hefeweizen.

Not a bad attempt at a hefeweizen. I was actually pleasantly surprised. Slight bitterness with a somewhat citrus taste.

Nothing special, very average attempt at recreating an echt German hefeweizen. Bland, with a hint of unwelcoming bitterness.

I couldn’t detect any wheat character in this beer other than a slight tartness. The traditional yeasty esters were absent as if a standard ale yeast was used. Poured nice with a good head but I drink a hefe for the yeasty aroma and flavor.

(bottle - 12 oz) Cloudy orange color with not much of a head. Light aroma of sour wheat, some orange and banana and grass. Doesn’t really smell like a normal hefe. Flavor is a lot of wheat, grass, straw, bananas and something really bitter. Alcohol is very detectable and the body is very thin.

Brown bottle, 3/4 of a pint; eye: pale yellow with almost whithish reflections, white head that falls rapidlay, a bit of effervescence, lightly veiled, no lacing; nose: smells relatively faint of caramlized wheat, slightly spicly, a bit of banana; mouth: taste is also faint, thin in the mouth, a bit of carbonation, lightly sweet, a bit of bitterness, wheat and spices covered by a little banana but more important not balanced, finale with an acidic component; overall: once is enough FRANÇAIS Bouteille brune, 3/4 d’une pinte; oeil : jaune pâle avec des reflets presque blanchâtres, mousse blanche qui s’affaisse assez rapidement, un peu d’effervescence, légèrement voilée; nez : odeurs relativement minces de blé caramélisé, légèrement épicée, un peu de banane; bouche : saveurs relativement minces, mince en bouche, un peu de carbonatation, légèrement sucrée, très peu d’amertume, blé et épices recouvert d’un peu de bananes mais surtout aucune balance entre les goûts, finale avec une pointe acidulée; en résumé : une fois c’est suffisant
