3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Not very big for a DIPA. The bodyís a hazy yellowed orange topped with a chunky off white head that dissolves in said chunkc, "lacing" the sides of the glass in thick chunks. The aroma is a light caramel buried under grapefruit and pineapple. Medium bodied. The malt is even lighter in the flavor, but the hoppy bitterness grows, still grapefruit and pineapple with a hit of earthiness. The finish is both sweet candy and a piney bitterness, the latter not being especially strong for the style. Just okay.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Thick dark golden body, medium white head. Aroma is of caramel and some hops. Surprisingly viscous mouthfeel; hoppy citrusy flavour with caramel. Not a particularly good mixture. If this is one of the better Magic Hats, I may perhaps avoid tasting Magic Hat from whole bottles in future.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Slightly hazy amber body with a medium off-white head. Sweet floral hops aroma with some caramel hints. Sweet floral hops body, some light caramel and a dry bitter end. So far this is the best Magic Hat Iíve had.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Large light tan head with an attractive coating lace that lasts. Hazy orange hued brew. Funky, perfumy nose, kinda piney, some spice. Body is medium, lightly resiny with a prickly carbonation. Solid, piney hop flavors, medium sweet caramel malts, lightly resiny hops, spicey and fruity. Big bitter finish, fruity and hoppy. Surprisingly big and flavorful for a MH brew! As EDA said, Finally, a Magic Hat beer worth drinking!

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Decent aroma and look - misty blonde with thin head. Flavor is good and mild - either well balanced or low carbonation. Very smooth and a nice surprise from M.H.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: DEC 10, 2006 Bottle- definatley the best beer from magic hat Iíve experienced. Piny hop scent, and dominating the overall taste with citrus notes. I didnít think it to be as complex as other double ipas. However, It was a pleasant suprise from the other beers being served at the gallery opening. I feel bad for any unfortunate art critics enthusiasts that werenít hopheads.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours golden with a nice frothy white head. Nice sweet, grapefruit and floral aroma. Flavor is somewhat hoppy, lots of grapefruit, with a nice bitter finish. A little on the maltier side for an IIPA. Not bad though.
