jezmez68 (260), Chesterton, Indiana, USA Oct 11, 2007 Pours orange with a head that quickly disappears. Smells sweet, like an IPA, and actually looked like an IPA. Sort of tasted like an IPA, too, with a full mouth of hops, and a slight sweetness. Doesn’t leave your mouth hung with hops
I was surprised to find out that this was a Belgian Dubbel style. I will definitely be buying more of this style in the future! wmtribesman (21), Virginia, USA Sep 21, 2007 From the autumn sampler pack: Very very good. Hefeweizen like spiciness, but with much more body than a Hefe and obviously without the wheat taste. Ambrose (141), East Aurora, New York, USA Oct 31, 2007 It’s noteasy rating these mystery beers. that being said: Rock on mystery beers! this one does it, and it does it good. Like bunjee jumping and the cord actually doesnt snap. littlemikecd (9), Pennsylvania, USA does not count Sep 11, 2007 I had never seen this type of product before, but I really did enjoy this dark ale. It is definitely an autumnal drink, with hints of spice and hops. Reminded me a stronger #9, without the apricot. weeare138 (924), Collegeville, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 11, 2007 Appears a chestnut toned amber with a small, light tan head that slowly fades into a mild cap. Tiny amounts of CO2 rise to the top. Lacing is splattered around the interior of the glass.
Smell is of doughy, toasted nuts, caramel, raisins, and plums.
Taste is of the same doughy goodness that was found in the aromas. This is raisin bread in a bottle with a touch of cherry. Hints of Chimay Red come to mind while enjoying this.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied, yeasty, fizzy, plum filled with a touch of cocoa powder.
