Commercial Description:
Editor's note: Yes, the bottle calls it a hefeweizen. The beer, however, is brewed with a (fairly hefty) portion of lemongrass, which contributes a significant aroma and flavor. Thus we have deemed it a Spice/herb/vegetable and not a German Hefeweizen, which should be free from adjuncts (other than hops).

Thanks to Haslinger for this beer. Cloudy orange color with a thin white head. Aroma of lemon grass, spices, and orange. Flavor is similar but with some wheat and citrus as well...thin bodied.

I’ll be honest, I drank this out of the bottle, so I couldn’t get a good idea of the appearance, but it looked light hazy yellow. Lots of lemon, slight lemon grass, and a bit of orange as well as wheat notes and a tad of spice. Really light. Actually, really, really light. Bottle said 4.4%, so it served the purpose of wetting my tongue at noon on a Sunday after helping a friend move. Drinkable, sure. Good? Not really.

Sorry but this is an average Hefe! It is nice that an American brewery is going for it but it falls short. Again, sorry.

Light yellow-orange with a quick white head that dies quickly. Big lemon grass aroma, lightly spicy, watery, some lemon citrus. Taste is smooth bodied, more lemon grass. Eh...hefeweizen? No.

a- pours a cloudy orange hue with a thin white head that is mostly diminshing, some particulates and no lacing s- pretty classic hefe aroma characterized by citrus and wheat tones t- taste is decent, but underwhelming, mostly wheat/citrus with a tart aftertaste that is quite brief in duration m- watery mouthfeel and overly carbonated d- refreshing hefe that is easy to drink with a low abv, however it is a bit on the bland side and I would not put in the top tier of this genre

Bottle 355 ml
Appearance: golden, lightly hazed wheat ale, large snowy white top. Rocky lacing. 3+-
Nose: golden malts with dusty aroma , little wheat character , hint of honey 5+
Flavor/Palate : Dusty front of honey and herbs. Mild soft mid bodied substance. Honey character with golden malts. Echo of Fortuna brewery ? It’s not bad but I would not call good either.

Oh snap these guys violated the Reinheitsgebot! Shame on them! Seriously though... This hefe is average at best. Cloudy straw color. Wheat and lemon on the aroma. Flavor is more of the same. The lemongrass makes itself apparent. Wheatiness is a little unrefined. A little watery on the palate. You can probably do much better.

If it’s not a weizen then why is it labeled as such. Pours a clear, lightened straw color. A big red flag considering its clarity. Huge frothy, white head. Aroma is full of wheat with mild lemon undertones. Flavor has some fleeting moments of detectable hefe notes. Lemon and water dominate and it’s actually leans more towards the water side. Body is medium-thin and finishes with a mild tartness. It is crisp and dare I say, refreshing for a summer brew due to its mild, lemony character. Overall flavorless and half-hearted approach to the style.
