This hefe is average at best. Cloudy straw color. Wheat and lemon on the aroma. Flavor is more of the same. The lemongrass makes itself apparent. Wheatiness is a little unrefined. A little watery on the palate. You can probably do much better.

Feb 4, 2009 If it’s not a weizen then why is it labeled as such. Pours a clear, lightened straw color. A big red flag considering its clarity. Huge frothy, white head. Aroma is full of wheat with mild lemon undertones. Flavor has some fleeting moments of detectable hefe notes. Lemon and water dominate and it’s actually leans more towards the water side. Body is medium-thin and finishes with a mild tartness. It is crisp and dare I say, refreshing for a summer brew due to its mild, lemony character. Overall flavorless and half-hearted approach to the style.

Feb 4, 2009 Light haze and dull straw. Aroma of lemon balm and a somewhat fruity herbal hop character. Bland, lemony taste. Thin body. I guess it’s quenching.

Feb 2, 2009 poured a light nonay golden color with a thin white head...poor retention. very clear for a hefe...maybe filitered? Aroma is wheaty with light lemongrass and the slightest hint of spice. flavor is very citrusy dominating the minimal spice and is refreshing....drinks more like a witbier. the mouthfeel is thin and light and the finish is a bit abrupt. i like more out of a hefe but this is a decent lawnmower beer.

Jan 21, 2009 Bottle. Mild wheaty aroma. Hazy yellow-orange body, small white head. Very refreshing mild malty flavor. Enjoyable in a subtle sort of way.

Jan 17, 2009 330 mL. Pours a light yellow with a decent hefeweizen white cap. Aromas of lemon peel, fresh grass, citrus. Taste is light and refreshing with lots of lemongrass, lemon peel, and faint spicy hops. Overall a watered down wheat beer. Magic Hat is just not that great of a brewery in my opinion. Another mediocre offering.
