BBB63 (4198), La Porte, Indiana, USA Jun 23, 2008 Bottle and served in small Ayinger glass: Slightly cloudy with a big fluffy head and good lace. The aroma has notes of bubblegum, lemongrass, clove, musty cellar, wheat husks, and some medicinal esters. The taste is malty and wheaty with a moderate amount of fruitiness. Some spicy notes upon the finish. The mouth feel is watery and sort of chalky. Okay beer but seems to be lacking full refreshment. graham515 (420), Houston, Texas, USA Jun 21, 2008 Pours into the glass a yellowish gold with an offwhite head. Aroma is somewhat malty with a little zest that i would attribute to the lemon grass. Flavor is good, but a bit overwhelmingly malty with no sort of yeast that I want from a beer that calls itself a hefe WickerBrew (312), Chicago, Illinois, USA Jun 20, 2008 Not a great hefeweizen but a pretty good wheat ale/witbeir nonetheless. Very sweet with some citrus zing, this is an ok chioce for summer daydrinking. Not exactly a world class beer, but drinking local in VT can be a good time. heemer77 (4294), Savannah, Missouri, USA Jun 19, 2008 Hazy dark bronze body. Orange scented bubblegum was the primary aroma. There was also some fruity strawberry. The taste was navel oranges with some light malt. This was sweet and fairly bland. punkrkr27 (606), Berkley, Michigan, USA Jun 17, 2008 Hazy gold pour with a small, quickly fading white head. Yeasty, lemony citrus aroma with a subtle sweet wheat background. Sweet yeasty lemon flavor with a crisp wheat finish. A little on the thin side with moderate carbonation and a somewhat watery finish. Good hot weather beer but nothing terribly impressive. Veeve (312), Winston-Salem, North Carolina, USA Jun 14, 2008 Very drinkable. A little bit too lemony. but refreshing, semi-full mouthfeel. clovey. not the bubblegum you might expect from a hefe or the sweetness. I agree with the commercial description. the overwhelming cloves make it more of a spice/herb/veggie genre. Its good. worth a try if you are a hefe afficionado but if you only really like hefes and are in the mood for one, try something else. jcwattsrugger (5223), Florida and, New Jersey, USA Jun 13, 2008 12 oz bottle-pours a retaining thin off white head and hazy yellow/orange color. Aroma is lemon, wheat. Taste is lemon, wheat, yeast, dry. OK carbonation. Thanks to Joe-jwc215 for sharing. BeerBaron617 (306), Novi, Michigan, USA Jun 10, 2008 A decent "hefeweizen" but I agree with with the editor in saying it’s not a proper hefeweizen. Otherwise it was very nice and fruity with some subtle malts. An overall nice summery beer.
