phishpond417 (1861), Madison, Wisconsin, USA May 30, 2008 This pours a nice cloudy yellow colour, with a decent amount of wheat flavor. lots of grassy character on the palate, aroma of citrus fruits and flowers. CelticBrew (676), The Crystal Coast, North Carolina, USA May 30, 2008 Pours from 12 oz bottle hazy amber with a medium white head that mostly lasted with fair lacing. Medium aroma of wheat and spice. Medium body with soft carbonation. Balanced enough I guess, wheat and spice flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. Average brew, really nothing to write to momma about.
guzzler67 (1272), Hanover, Maryland, USA May 29, 2008 Bright, amber/gold appearance with a small white head and only a trace of lace. Subtle herbal aroma backed up by a small amount of soft fruit. Some sweet malt flavors up front with a spicy aftertaste. Light bodied, decently carbonated mouthfeel leading to a short lived finish. dkachur (2318), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA May 27, 2008 Bottle. Pours a cloudy peach color with medium retention. Aroma of wheat, grass and citrus. Taste is caramel malts with a sharp tartness, I guess from the lemongrass. Not bad. craftycarl21 (513), South Hero, Vermont, USA May 27, 2008 aroma smells of a fairly typical lager with some lemon hints. flavor was mostly lemongrass, not really a hefeweizen as ratebeer notes. mediocre palate. flavor is different, but simple and underwhelming. ok overall. Leighton (234), New York, New York, USA May 24, 2008 Well, I felt pretty good about my super-discerning palate when I concluded that this wasn’t a hefeweizen. And then I logged on here and realized that many other people arrived at the same conclusion. I was right, anyway. So, the beer. Considering it as NOT a hefeweizen, it’s pretty good. The initial surprise I felt after tasting it gradually subsided as I realized that I was tasting something different. It would be like biting into an apple and tasting banana. i love bananas (and apples, incidentally), but if I were expecting to taste apple it would be weird. The beer is worth a taste, so go for it. FatguyRacer (129), Crownsville, Maryland, USA May 24, 2008 Bottle. I picked this up as a six pack in my continuing quest for an everyday Hefe that doesnt suck. Circus boy doesnt suck, but like others have mentioned its not very hefe. The search continues... jmcinerny (14), Maryland, USA May 16, 2008 It’s not a hefe. Maybe it is an American wheat. Very disappointing. It reminds me of Widmer wheat. Very bland, wife bought it for me, thought she was doing me a favor. Bless her heart, but she was wrong.
