Commercial Description:
Editor's note: Yes, the bottle calls it a hefeweizen. The beer, however, is brewed with a (fairly hefty) portion of lemongrass, which contributes a significant aroma and flavor. Thus we have deemed it a Spice/herb/vegetable and not a German Hefeweizen, which should be free from adjuncts (other than hops).

Found this in a winter variety 12-pack at Charlotte NC supermarket. Pours a hazy, opaque apple cider color with a fizzy white head. Active carbonation evident in quickly dissipating head with little lacing. Citrus and spice on the nose, most specifically orange peel. Aroma is light and fresh. In terms of flavor, not much of the citrus promised in the nose. Medium-light body livened by active carbonation. Subtle malt flavors through a relatively dry and short finish. A slightly off sour note in the background is noticeable with the absence of a strong flavor profile. Overall, not a particularly engaging beer, especially in terms of flavor. Light and refreshing, however, probably a good choice for an outdoor summer event. Just found out this has lemongrass added - taste that now. Agree with The BeerLover that this would go well with Thai food.

Pours a cloudy golden color. The aroma is very interesting. Not something I was expecting from a bottle called hefeweizen. Aroma is lemon and slight wheat. Fruit flavor comes through. Somewhat of a quick finish and medium bodied beer.

Hazy golden beer, part of a winter "Feast of Fools" pack. Noticeable lemon and wheat flavors, very smooth and easy to drink. Maybe it’s not a hefeweizen, but it is a darn good drink.

12oz. Hazy golden with a thin white head. Little aroma, there’s loads of carbonation here that make it kind of interesting I guess. Some banana in the mouth, but mostly thin malt. This is one of the reasons wheat beer has a bad rap.

This beer is a hazy golden color with a medium thin ivory head that dissipates quickly. Spotty lacing. Light citrus and wheat aroma. Thin body with light fruit, wheat and herb flavors. The finish is fruity and short with a mild spice aftertaste. Just not very good though.

A lemony, fizzy hefeweizen, vegetal notes, a little sweet with a dry finish. So lemongrass is what gives it a unique flavor - give them points for originality. Another fine creation from Magic Hat.
